Present at roll call: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Chenoweth, Peirce, Durrell, City Clerk. Absent: City Attorney. The minutes of the meeting held July 6th were read and approved as read. The request of Mrs. Ella B. Squires for permission to con- struct a driveway into her premises at 507 W. 10th St., was granted; the work to be done under the supervision of the Street Superintendent. A letter was read from the Veterans welfare Board rela- tive to taxes on Lot 66, Tract 7625 and on motion duly carried the City Clerk was authorized to cancel all taxes against such lot. On motion duly carried Doris Farren was granted a two weeks vacation commencing -August 3, 1925, and Ella Aguilar was grant- ed a one week vacation commenc- ing July 27, 1925. It was moved that all bids on the improvement of First, Second, Third and Fourth Streets be now opened examined and publicly de- clared. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier,. Chenoweth, Peirce, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: None. The following bids were read: NAME PAVING Per Sq. Ft. William Haight$0.052 Total -- 6,227.92 J. L. Wilsford 11$235 Sq. Ft. 38.5 Cu. Yds. On motion duly carried all bids were referred to the City Engineer for examina- tion and report. MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD July 20th, 1925 Gentlemen: The City Engineer having carefully examined all bids submitted wishes to report that said bids are in his opinion too high and re- commends that all bids be re- jected. The City Engineer presented a written report on the petition for street work in the Para- mount Heights Tract and on motion.duly carried the matter was laid over to next meeting. The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE RECORDATION OF THAT CERTAIN DEED OF GIFT EXBOUTED JULY 5th, 1925 BY LOUISE S. MACNEIL, et al., IN FAVOR OF THE CITY OF AZUSA. The Resolution was read. On motion the same was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Chenoweth, Peirce, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: None. The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICA- TIONS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF ANGELENO AVENUE; IN THE CITY OF AZUSA. The Resolution was read. On motion the same was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, 7:30 P. The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO rd - PROVE PORTIONS.OF ANGELENO AVE- NUE IN THE.CITY OF AZUSA, AND DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF. SAID CITY, EN- TITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF.TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA LICENSING AND REGULAT- ING CERTAIN FINDS OF BUSINESS CARRIED ON IN SAID CITY. etc.," ADOPTED MAY 27, 1918. Absent: None. The matter of the application of Mr. Gauntner for a pool room license as presented through Trustee Peirce was referred to the Sanitary and Police Committee to report at neat meeting. The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, DECLARING THE OFFICE OF STENO- GRAPHER VACANT AND APPOINTING ELLA AGUILAR TO THAT OFFICE AND FIXING HER SALARY OR COMPENSA- TION.
