HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - January 4, 1926 - CCCITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. 1.55 January 4, 1926. Present at roll call: Trustees: Durrell, Moon, ileier, Chenoweth, Peirce, City Attorney and City Clerk. The minutes of the regular meeting held December 21, 1925 were read and approved as read. A communication from Mr. W. 0. Streshley resigning his position on the Library Board was read, and,on motion, the resignation was accepted. A communication from Jack Pierce regarding the installing of light, power and water at the fruit stand of Mr. Nickerson was read, and,on motion, was re- ferred to the Board of Public Works. The request of J. Refregio Hermandez of 7#509 N. Soldano Avenue, for permission to re- move a pepper tree from in front of his premises was referred to the Chairman of the Board with power to act. The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION,OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS, PRESCRIBING THE DENOMINA- TION OF SUCH BONDS AND OF THE INTEREST COUPONS ATTACHED THERETO. The Resolution was read. On motion the same was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: - Ayes: Trustees: Durrell, Moon, Meier, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None, Absent: None. The following Ordinance was presented: Ali ORDINANCE, OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING THE RATES FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE FOR SAID CITY FOR: (1) DOMESTIC AND COM- MERCIAL LIGHTING RATE; (2) COMBINED LIGHTING HEATING AND V.DOXING RATEV (3S GENERAL POWER RATE, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY IN CON- FLICT HEREWITH. The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the Ordinance be declared read for the second time and taken up for its third reading and final passage. The Ordinance was read. 7:30 P.M. RESIGNATION OF W. 0. STP.ESHLEY RECEIVED AND ACCEPTED. COMMUNICATION FROM JACK PIERCE CONCERNING LIGHT AND WATER FOR MR. MIC',R- SOIt'S FRUIT STAND REFERRED TO BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. MR. J. HERIdANDES GRANTED PERMISSION TO REPROVE TRITE. RESOLUTION NO.872 ADOPTBD. ORDINANCE I40.248 ADOPTED. 156 MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD JANUARY 4, 1926. It was moved that the same be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Durrell, Moon, Meier, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: None. The following Ordinance was presented: AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REGULATING THE USE OF THE STREETS OF SAID CITY AND PROHIBITING PARKING THEREON BETWEEN CERTAIN HOURS AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF: The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the Ordinance be declared read for the second time and taken up for its third reading and final passage. The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the same be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Durrell, Moon, Meier, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: None. The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, ORDERING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. The Resolution was read. On motion the same was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: Trustees: Durrell, Meier. Absent: None. It was moved and carried that the President of the Board and the City Clerk be authorized to sign the agreement, dated November 16, 1925., between the City of Azusa and F. S. Lack.
