'205 The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Trustees; Durrell, Meier, Chenoweth, Peirce, City Attorney, City Clerk. Absent Trustee: Moon, who later entered meeting. The minutes of the regular meeting held April 5, 1926, were then read and approved as read. The following Resolution was presented. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF $2000.00 FROM THE ELECTRIC LIGHT FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND. The Resolution was read. On mot ion the same was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Durrell, Moon,. Meier, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: None. The following Ordinance was presented: Ali ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY CF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE OPEN- ING OF PARAUOUNT AVENUE IN THE CITY OF AZUSA. The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the Ordinance be declared read for the second time and taken up for its third reading and final passage. The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the same be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Durrell, Moon, Meier, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: None. The fol lowi ng Ordi nanc a was presented: AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY CF AZUSA REPLEALING ORDINAILE 110. 201. AND FIXING THE SALARY OR COMPENSATION OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICERS OF SAID C ITY. The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the Ordinance be declared read for the second time and taken up for its third reading and final passage. The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the same be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Durrell, Moon, Meier, Chenwoeth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: None. Stephens " 44.00 3719 Harry Zerell " 24.00 3720 Chuck Sumner 12.00 LIGHT FUND 3270 Harry >Zerell Labor 20.00 The City Clerk reported that the returns of the General Municipal Election held on Monday, the 12th day of April, 1926, in the City of Azusa, Gal ifornia were then and had been in his possession in the VOTES CANVASSED envelopes containing them, in the same condition was when received, and the said Clerk presented said returns to the Board of Trustees at this meeting. It was thereupon moved by Trustee August L. Meier, seconded by Trustee Durrell, that the Board of Trustees proceed forthwith to canvass said returns. The motion was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Durrell, Moon, Meier, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes None. Absent: None. Said motion being carried, the Board of Trustees then proceeded forth- with to publicly examine and canvass said returns and upon the completion of said canvass by said Board it appeared that the whole number of votes cast in said City of Azusa at said election was 1023. That the . names of the persons voted for, the offices for which they were voted, the number of votes given in each precinct to each said persons, to- gether with the whole number of votes which they received in the entire 208 211 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 19, 1926. 7:30 P.M. THE SAID CITY ON APRIL 12, 1926. The City Clerk then reported that he had caused to be gntered in the Minute Book a statement of the result of said election. showing all maters required by law to be shown therein and that he had done so by copying in the Resolution last hereinabove set forth in full. Smith who'were present at the meeting, at this point immediate= ly took; subscribed and filed the constitutional oath of office.as re- quired by law, and took.their seats at once with Trustee H: Chenoweth '. and the Board as thus constituted proceeded forthwith to organiie.by the election of a president there of.K Trustee H. Chenoweth being elected temporary'chairman, Trustee 14. T. Durrell nominated Trustee, C. H. Howard for President of the Board. It was moved by Trustee M. T. Durrell seconded by.TrusteeA. Crane was given ,permission by the Board to move the house on the southwest corner of Centre & San Gabriel Sts. to a lot between Santa Fe and P.. E. tracks, on . San Gabriel St. The request of 114r. G.;C. Evart for work in the Park was referred to Park Supt. Mr. M. Jones. Health Officer's report was read and referred to committee as a whole to meet at 12 o'clock on April 20, 1926. Permission, was granted the Lions Club to station mythical officers on Azusa Ave. and Centre St. on. Thursday or Friday-,6pril 22, 1926: It was moved and seconded that the City Engineer, C. L. Nichols, be instructed to proceed with the engineer= ing work, plans and specifications .r.e lative'to the construction of sidewalks,. curbs, etc. in Paramount Heights'Traot: Trustees Beck, Durrell, Loney, were ` appointed by the President of the Board as a committee to thoroughly investigate the Paramount situation.
