Present at Roll Call: Trustees: Beek, -Loney, -Chenoweth, Howard. City'kttorney, City Clerk. Absent: Trustee: Durrell. Trustee Durrell arrived during the course of the meeting. The minutes of the last regular meeting of July 19th were read and approved as read. The request of Laura Goalby for a two weeks vacation from August 9th to August 23rd was granted without deduction fo salary. The request of Mae Hynes for a a two weeks vacation from August 10th to August 24th was granted without deduction of salary. A communication from IIr. Henry P. Goodwin withdrawing his claim against the City for 4150.00 was read. AUGUST 2, 1926. A. communication from the State Compensation In Fund in- forming the Board of the expiration of their insurance on August 26, 1926 was read and referred to the Finance Committee to report at the next meet- ing. Moved by Trustee Loney and seconded by Trustee Chenoweth and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled A RESOLUTION OF TIE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF $1081.95 FROM THE WATER FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND.. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by 'Trustee Loney and seconded by 'Trustee Beck that this resolution be adopted as read and be numbered Resolution No. 907. Carried by the following vote of the Board. Ayes: Trustees: Durrell, Loney Beck, Chenoweth, Howard. Noes: None. Absent. None. Moved by Trustee c henoweth seconded by Trustee Loney and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING THE 'INSTALLATION OF A TELEPHONE AT THE PLACE OF RESIDENCE Or EACH IMIBER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE RENTAL THEREOF BY THE CITY OF AZUSA." be read. It was moved by 'Trustee Loney and seconded by Trustee Beck that the request be denied. A request to hold Tent Meetings on some vacant lot was presented by Mr. H. E. Barker of Glendora. It was moved by Trustee Beck and seconded by Trustee Loney that the request be denied. A request by Emile Gipp to cut the curb at 4625 Soldano Avenue was presented. It was moved by Trustee Loney and seconded by 'Trustee Beck that the request be granted, the work to be done under the supervision of the Street Superintendent. A demand for payment of $12.00 for a plough used by the City Street 275 7:30 P.M. IBR. WINTERS REQUEST DENIED. REQUEST MADE BY H. E. BARKER TO HOLD TENT MEETINGS IN THE CITY WAS DENIED. EMILE GIPP'S REQUEST TO CUT THE CURB GRANTED. Department was presented by Mr. IBR. CULLER'S DEMAND FOR Dames Culler. It was moved by PAYMENT OF $12.00 FOR Trustee Bedk seconded by Trustee PLOUGH RENTED TO STREET Chenoweth that the demand be allowed. DEPARTMENT GRANTED. 12t . It was moved by Trustee Loney and seconded by Trustee Beck that the Building Inspector be instructed to inforce the State Housing Act 8548. It was moved by Trustee Beck second- ed by Trustee Chenoweth and unanimous- ly carried that a resoltuion entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING THE WATER SUPERINTENDENT TO LAY THREE- FOURTHS INCH (3/4") WATER PIPE AND IN- STALL A THREE-FOURTHS INCH (3l4") WATER METER AND MAK' A TEMPORARY WATER CON- NECTION FOR BERTHA L. PHILLEO, ALL AT HER EXPENSE; AND FIXING THE CONDITIONS UNDER 17HICH THE SAME SHALL BE DONE. be read. It was moved by Trustee Loney and seconded by 'Trustee Chenoweth and unanimously carried that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA RE- PEALING ORDINANCE NO. 250 ENTITELD "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING ITS IN- TENTION TO LAY OUT, OPEN AND EXTEND PARAMOUNT AVENUE FROIA'ITS PRESENT EAST- ERLY TERMINATION IN PIEDMONT AVENUE.TO THE -WESTERLY LINE OF AZUSA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF AZUSA CALIFORNIA:: ".;DULY ADOPTED AND APPROVED ON THE 1ST DAY OF MARCH, 1926." be placed on its second reading. It was moved by Trustee Durrell and seconded by Trustee Chenoweth and unanimously carried that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUIRING AND PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL FROM PROPERTY, LANDS AND LOTS WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA OF WEEDS, RUBBISH AND OTHER MATERIAL WHICH MAY ENDANGER OR INJURE, NEIGHBOR- ING PROPERTY OR THE HEALTH OR WELFARE OF RESIDENTS OF THE VICINTY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF LIENS FOR THE COST OF SUCH REMOVAL AND FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF SUCH LIENS." This ordinance was then read for the first time. The request of Mr. R. T.
