HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - August 16, 1926 - CCCITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Trustees: Durrell, Beek, Loney Chenoweth, Howard, City Attorney and City Clerk. The minutes of the last regular meeting of August 2, 1926 were read and approved as read. A communication from Irene B. Barnes asking for a two weeks vacation commencing September 7th was read. Moved by Trustee Loney and seconded by Trustee Beck that the same be granted without deduction of salary. It was moved by Trustee Chenoweth and seconded by Trustee Loney and carried that the request of C. C. Kimbrell for a two weeks leave of absence commencing August 30th be granted without deduction of salary. It was moved by Trustee Beck and sedonded by Trustee Durrell and carried that the request of James Rogers for a two weeks vacation commencing September 6th be granted without deduction of salary. The request of Phillip Luna for permission to remove two pepper trees from in front of his place was, on motion by Trustee Beek . seconded by Trustee'Loney,-re- ferred to the Board of Public Works. The petition signed by forty- three citizens asking for the stopage of the encroachment of the Santa Fe Railway on Eighth Street was, on motion by Trustee Chenoweth seconded by Trustee Loney, laid on the table in- definitely. On the recommendation of the Finance Committee the premium on the Aetna Insurance policy and the State Comepnsation Insurance Fund were ordered paid. AUGUST 16, 1926. 7:30 P.M.- IRENE B. Moved by Trustee Loney seconded by Trustee Durrell and unanimously carried that an Ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUIRING AND PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL FROM PRO- PERTY, LANDS AND LOTS WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA OF WEEDS, RUBBISH AND OTHER MATERIAL WHICH MAY ENDANGER OR INJURE NEIGHBORING PROPERTY OR -THE HEALTH OR WELFARE OF RESIDENTS OF THE VICINITY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE ES- TABLISHMENT OF LIENS FOR THE COST OF SUCH REMOVAL AND FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF 281 PETITION REGARDING SANTA FE RAILWAY ENCROACHMENT LAID ON TABLE INDEFINIT E- LY. INTENTION TO ORDER THE LAYING OUT, OPENING AND EXTENDING OF PARAMOUNT AVENUE FOR A UNIFORM WIDTH OF SIXTY (60) FEET FROM ITS PRESENT EASTERLY TERMINATION IN PIEDMONT AVENUE TO THE WESTERLY LINE OF AZUSA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. FROM THE ELECTRIC LIGHT FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND AND $2000.00 FROM THE WATER FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND. be read. This resolution was then read. After a petition for sidewalks and curbs was presented signed by a majority of the property owners, it was moved by Trustee Beck sec- onded by Trustee Durrell and un- animously carried that a resolution entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING AND ORDERING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PRE- PARE IMPROVEMENT PLANS, PROFILES AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CEMENT CONCRETE SIDEWALKS, CURBS AND RETURNS ON AND ALONG THE EAST AND WEST SIDES OF SUNSET AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, FROM A LINE PARALLEL WITH AND TWELVE.(12) FEET NORTH OF THE SOUTH LINE OF ELEVENTH (11TH) STREET TO A LINE PARALLEL WITH AND TWLEVE (12) FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTH LINE OF CRESCENT DRIVE, (EX- CLUDING TENTH (10TH) STREET, EXCEPT WHERE SIDEWALKS AND CURBS ARE ALREADY CONSTRUCTED ACCORDING TO LINE, GRADE, PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. be read.
