The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Trustees: Durrell, Chenoweth, Howard, City Clerk and City Attorney. Absent: Trustees: Beck, Loney. The Minutes of the last ad- jounned meeting of September 7 1926 were read and approved as read. It was moved by Trustee Chenoweth and seconded by Trustee Durrell and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA EMPLOYING MISS MARION SCOTT AS CITY NURSE, AND FIXING HER COM- PENSATION. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by Trustee Durrell and seconded by Trustee Chehoweth that this resolution be ad- opted as read and be numbered Resolution No. 917. , Carried by the following vote of the Board: Ayes: Trustees: Durrell, Chen- oweth, Howard. Noes: None. Absdnt: Trustees: Beck, Loney. It was moved by Trustee Durrell and seconded by Trustee Chenoweth and unanimously carried that the swimming pool should be closed until the summer of 1927, to take effect A petition for sidewalks and curbs having been presented it was moved by Trustee Durrell seconded by Trustee Chenoweth and carried that the petition be referred to the City Engineer for verification. A communication from Edwin Villisms with regard to the renting of the Hall upstairs in the City Hall was lied on the table. The request of Andrew J. AHhurst for work in the Park or on the street was ordered placed on file. It was moved by Trustee Chenoweth seconded by Trustee Durrell and un- animously carried that a resolution entitled A RESOLUTIO14 OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA EMPLOYING THE FIRM OF THOMAS AND MOORE, OERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, AS AUDITORS FOR THE CITY OF AZUSA FOR THE PRESENT FISCAL YEAR, AND FIXING THEIR COM- PENSATION. be read. It was moved by Trustee Durrell seconded by Trustee Chenoweth and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IM_ PROVE PORTIONS OF MOTOR, IRWIN- DALE, VAid NESS, BRO_ADMOOR, ARLINGTON AND PIEDMONT AVENUES, MCKINLEY, PARAMOUNT, ROOSEVELT AND FIRST STREETS IN THE CITY OF AZUSA AND DETERMING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF. be read. It was moved by Trustee Chenoweth seconded by Trustee Durrell and unanimously carried that a res- olution entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA RE- QUESTING AND PETITIONING FOR AID BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY,CALIFORNIA, FROM APPROPRIATE FUNDS, IN THE PAVING OF CERRITOS AND IRWINDALE AVENUES. be read. The.City Attorney reported that the Railroad Commission had granted the request for a crossing over the Santa Fe tracks at Virginia Ave. Trustee Durrell was appointed a committee of one to interview the manager Santa Fe and Pacific Electric Railway Companys with regard to the placing of safety signals at the important cross- ings in the City of Azusa. The City Clerk was instructed to write the Automobile Club of Southern Calif- ornia with regard to the pla61ng,of 7:30 P.I.I. ` 307 RESOLUTION NO. 919 ADOPTED. tp•, RESOLUTION NO. 920 ADOPTED.
