CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA.
The Board of Trustees of the
City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time
and place..
Present at roll call: Trustees:
Durrell, Meier, Chenoweth, Howard
and City Clerk. Absent: Trustee:
Beck and City Attorney. Trustee
Beck and City Attorney entered
during the reading of the minutes.
The minutes of the last regular
meeting of December 20, 1926, were
read and approved as read.
A communication from R. W. Lic-
Quiston was read and ordered laid
on the table.
A communication from Dr. J. L.
Pomeroy asking whether the Board
wished to sign an agreement for
the continuance of the Health
Contract with the Los Angeles
County, for the year 1927 was
read. Dr. Pomeroy also wished to
know whether the Board would in-
crease the amount paid to the
County from §600.00 to :800.00
per year. The matter was post-
poned until the next regular
meeting and a committee consist-
ing of Trustee 11eier and Beck
was appointed to interview Sir.
C. C. Carpenter with regard to
the salary of the City Nurse,
Miss 11arion Scott.
It was moved by Trustee Beck
seconded by Trustee Chenoweth
that bids for street work for
the improvement of Sunset Avenue
and the alleys in Blocks TWENTY-
EIGHT (28), TWENTY-NINE (29),
THIRTY-SIX (36) AND THIRTY-SEVEN
(37) be now opened, examined and
publicly declared.

It was moved by Trustee Beck, second-
ed by Trustee Meier and unanimously
carried that a resolution. entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING THE
REFUNDING TO AZUSA FOOTHILL CITRUS
COMPANY OF THE SUM OF EIGHTY-THREE
AND 93/100 DOLLARS (,$83.93), COUNTY
TAXES PAID THROUGH ERROR BY SAID COM-
PANY, AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT
OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND THE CITY
CLERK OF SAID CITY TO DRAW A WARRANT
' FOR THE SAID AMOUNT, PAYABLE FROM THE
GENERAL FUND TO TIT, SAID COMPANY."

The City Attorney submitted a report as follows:
"Pursuant to your instructions, I have prepared and
transmit herewith a draft of a resolution determining and
declaring the necessity of voting bonds in the sum of
Seventy-five Thousand Dollars ($75,000.00), for the ac-
quisition and construction of a City Hall, including the
acquisition of the necessary lands and the acquisition or
construction of the necessary building, structures, equip-
ment and furniture therefor."
Moved by Trustee Chenoweth, seconded by Trustee Beck
and unanimously carried that the following resolution be
read:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA DETERMINING AND DECLARING THAT THE PUBLIC
INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND THE ACQUISITION AND
CONSTRUCTION OF A CITY HALL, INCLUDING THE ACQUISI-
TION OF NECESSARY LANDS AND THE ACQUISITION OR CON-
STRUCTION OF THE NECESSARY BUILDING, STRUCTURES,
EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE THEREFOR; PROVIDED TBAT NO
GREATER PORTION

THEREOF THAN T49EP1TY-FIVE THOUSAID DOLLARS ($25,000.00)
SHALL BE EXPENDED FOR TIE ACQUISITION OF THE NECESSARY
LANDS; AND DETERMINING AND DECLARING THAT THE COST THERE-
OF IS AND WILL BE TOO GREAT TO BE PAID OUT OF THE ORDI-
NARY ANNUAL INCOLM AND REVENUE OF SAID CITY.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa
do resolve as follows:
Section 1. That it is hereby determined and
declared that the public interest and necessity demand
the acquisition and construction by the City of Azusa
of a certain municipal improvement, to -wit:
The acquisition and construction of a
City Hall, including the acquisition
of the necessary lands and the acquisition
or construction of the necessary building,
structures, equipment and furniture there-
for; provided that no greater portion there-
of than Twenty-five Thousand Dollars shall
be expended for the acquisition of the
necessary lands,
and that the cost thereof is and will be too great to be
paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of
said city. That the said improvement is necessary and
convenient to carry out the objects, purposes and powers
of said city.
Section 2. That the estimated cost of said muni-
cipal improvement is the sum of Seventy-five Thousand Dol-
lars ($75,000.00), and that the said cost is and will be
too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and
revenue of the said City of Azusa.
' Section 3. That the City Clerk of said city
shall certify to the adoption of this resolution by a two-
thirds vote of all the members of the Board of Trustees of
said city and shall make an entry of the said adoption
thereof in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
adopted and shall cause the said resolution, together with
his certificate, to be entered in the book of resolutions
of the said city.
This resolution was then read.
Whereupon., it was moved by Trustee Meier
and seconded by Trustee Chenoweth that said resolu-
tion be adopted as read and be numbered Resolution 111o. 944.
This motion was carried on the following vote:
AYES: Trustees: Durrell, Beck, Meier, Chenoweth,
and Howard;
NOES: Trustees: None.
ABSEI'.T: Trustees: None.
Whereupon, the President of the Board of
Trustees declared the resolution unanimously adopted.
It was moved by Trustee Chenoweth,
seconded by Trustee Durrell and un-
animously carried that a resolution
entitled:
