Present at roll call: Trustees: Durrell, Beck, Meier, Howard, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Trustee: Chenoweth who entered the meeting during the reading of the minutes. The minutes of the last regular meeting of January 17 and of the adjourned meeting of January 19, 1927 were read and approved as read. A communication from :Mrs. Ida M. Shaw was read with regard to the naming of the street in front of her land. This was referred to the Board of Public Works. A request from the Senior Class of Citrus Union High School ask- ing the City of Azusa to place a X10.00 advertisement in the "LaPalma" was, on motion by Trustee Beck, seconded by Trustee Durrell, refused. 7:30 P.M. 399 A COMMUNICATION FROM MRS. It was movea-by Trustee Durrell, seconded by Trustee Beck and car- ried that the request of the Southern Counties Gas Company for permission to cross West Foothill Boulevard, 103 feet 'crest of Orange Avenue, be granted providing the Gas Company leave the street in as good a con- dition as before. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GAS COMPANY GRANTED PERMISSION TO CROSS FOOTHILL BOULEVARD. A communication from John P. Graves making application for work in the APPLICATION OF JOHN P. A petition for Street Lights on Alameda Avenue between Santa Fe Avenue and Sixth Street was present- ed and referred to the City Engineer for checking to report back later in the evening. '11 MINUTES OF REGULAR KEETIIIG HELD FEBRUARY 7, 1927. 7:30 P.M. 401 A petition for sidewalks, curbs and the planting of trees on Pasadena Avenue from Fifth Street to the wash etc. was referred to the City Engineer for checking. Petitions for light on San Gabriel Avenue were presented after which a letter signed by Mrs. Mace, Mrs. Heth, Mr. T. L. Munson and Mrs. Rush was read also the written reply of the City Clerk. After Mr. 11. B. Masterman of the Union Metal Company and others had addressed the Council it was moved by Trustee Beck, second- ed by Trustee Durrell and carried. that the petitions be returned, by the City Clerk to a Chairman of a new San Gabriel Avenue Committee, whose election is to be certified to by the Secretary of said Committee. It was moved by Trustee Chenoweth second- ed by Trustee Durrell that application for a new license, taking the place of the old one, by the Santa Fe Railway Company be authorized and that a fee of $5.00 be paid for same. The City Clerk reported that this is b, the day, hour and place when and where any and all protests against the Im- provement of portions of Eleventh Street, Tenth Street, San Gabriel Avenue and Azusa Avenue under Resolution of Intention No. 941 be heard. The City Clerk further reported that no written protests or objections had been filed with him up to the time set. The President of the Board then asked if any persons present desired to be heard in the matter. No person appearing before said Board, on motion by Trustee Meier, seconded by Trustee Beck a resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ORDERING THE WORK TO BE DONE AND IMPROVEP,IENT TO BE MADE UPON TENTH STREET IN THE CITY OF AZUSA." be read. Holden be authorized to take 4100.35 from the General Fund for the payment of coupons on the ninth Street Bonds, the same to be repaid as the money comes in from the property owners. Nichols, reported that the petition for lights on Alameda Avenue was all right, the matter was then referred back to him in order that proceed- ings might be started. Moved by Trustee Durrell, seconded by Trustee Meier that the further considera- tion of the bids for work in Paramount Heights Tract be postponed until February 21, 1927 at 7:30 P.M. Griffin of the Byron -Jackson Com- pany had addressed the Board on the matter of a new pump for the City Well, the matter was referred to the Board as a committee of the Whole for decision. Moved by Trustee Beck, seconded by Trustee Chenoweth that a phone be installed in the home of the Building inspector, 11r. Harmon, and that a warrant be drawn for 45.50 for same.
