The Board of trustees of the City of
Azusa met in rerlular session at the
above time and place.
Present at roll call. Trustees:
Martin, P,,Ieier, Chenoweth, Durrell,
City Attorney and City Clerk.
Absent: Trustee: Howard.
The minutes of the last re hilar
meeting of July 5, 1927 and the
adiourn meeting of July 7, 1927
were read and. approved as read.
A request from the City of Pomona to
string banners across the streets of
the City of Azusa advertising the Los
Angeles County Fair was, on motion by
Trustee Chenoweth, seconded by `trustee
Martin unanimously granted.
The request of E. C. Higbie for per-
mission to operate pool tables in the
Arcade Building pans, on motion by
Trustee Meier seconded by Trust:eePilartin
referred to the Police Committee.
Moved by Trustee Chenoweth, seconded by
Trustee Martin that the President of the
Board of Trustees and the City Clerk be
authorized to sign an agreement with E. S.
Pvlontogomery relative to the nurchase of
Lot 23, Block 30 in the City of Azusa.
Carried by the follolxilr; vote of the Board:
Ayes: Trustees: Martin, Meier, Chenoweth,
Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee:
Howard.
Moved and carried�tliat the Chief of Police
C. E. Gauldin's request for a two weeks
vacation be granted with nay, by the fol-
lowing vote of the Board:

Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee:

The application of F. L. Spear for the
position of Motorcycle Officer was ordered
placed on file.
The City Clerk reported that this is the day,
hour and place when and where any and. all
protests against the improvement of portions
of Orange, Sunset, and. Angeleno Avenues, and.
Vista Bonita and Eleventh Streets under
Resolution of Intention rt'995 be heard.
The President: -).f the Board then asked if any
persons present desired to be heard in the
matter. No person arnearinr before said
Board, on motion by Trustee Chenoweht, second-
ed by Trustee P+leier a resolution entitled:
