Present at roll call: Councilmen: Meier, Chenoweth, Durrell., City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilmen: Howard and Martin. Moved by Councilman Cheno,:!ot:h., seconded by Councilman Meier that, the Chief of Police be authorized ' to employ Cecil Call�ins to serve warrants outside the City, his remuneration to be Five Dollars for every fine collected. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Meier, Cheno,rreth, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Howard and. Martin. The City Clerk reported that this is the day, hour and place when and where any and all protests against the improvement of Dalton, Alameda and Santa Fe Avenues and Sixth Street under Resolution of Intention No. 1011 be heard. The City Clerk further reported that Mrs. E. A. Stevens, Yrs, Vi. F Hanes, Mrs. A. Dee Stuart, i,Irs. Pd. F. Moya, Warner Lambdin, Miss Sarah E. Beaty, Manuel ,.yal., Pola Ayala, J. C. Young. Mfrs J. C. Young, Mrs A. M. TJcGrew and Dill PricGrew have filed written protest against ' the work. on Dalton Avenue between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street under Resolution of Intention No. 1011. Said protests representing S% of frontage or area of Assessment District. The Mayor then asked if any persons present desired to be Heard in the matter. No person annearing before said Council, on motion by Councilman Chenoweth, seconded by Councilman Meier a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA OVERRULING PROTESTS FOR THE WORK TO BE DONE AS STATED IN RESOLUTION OF IiiTENTION NO. 1011. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by Councilman 1,-eier, seconded by Councilman Chenoweth that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1024. Isioved by Councilman Chenovieth, seconded by Councilman Meier that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign a warrant for $"06,128.00 for the purchase of Lots 44 and 45 in Blocic 30 and the building thereon, rade payable to the Azusa Nioman's Club. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: bleier, Ch.eno-:reth, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: Council- men: Howard and I';iartin. The request of D. B. White to more a dwelling from Soldano Avenue and i'oot- hill Blvd. to Lot 12, Tract 7673 was, on motion by Councilman Beier, seconded by Councilman Chenoweth duly carried. The City to be indemnified for any damage done to the streets by the re- mover. Moved by Councilman Chenoweth, seconded by Councilman Meier that cashier's cheers, certified checks or surety bonds are to be accepted as security on the new bids for the new City Hall. Carried by the following vote of the Council: ayes: Councilmen: Meier, Chenoweth, Durrell. Noes: None. =absent: Council- men: Howard and Martin.
