'li 81 The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier, Durrell, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman: Chenoweth. The minutes of the last regular meet- ing of November 21st and of the Special Meeting of November 28, 1927 were read ' and approved as read. Moved by Councilman Meier, seconded by Councilman Martin That the City Clerk be instructed to draw a warrant for ,'161.10 in favor of Richard M. Bates, Jr. (Architect for the New City Hall) being 120 of his commission on the basic rate. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Chenoweth. Two communications were read from R. C. Clapp regarding the Paramount Heights Tract, which, on motion by Councilman Meier, seconded by Councilman Martin and duly carried were referred to the City Attorney to answer. A letter was read from Messrs. Elliott & Horne regarding the assessment for street improvement, on non-operative property owned by the Pacific Electric ' Railway Company located on Crescent Drive; the amount being "510.26 which the Pacific Electric Company refuse to pay. Moved by Councilman martin, Seconded by Councilman Meier that the City Clerk be instructed to inform Elliott & Horne Company that the City of P.zusa will make a levy on all the property of the City to cover this amount. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, I,Jeier, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: Council- man: Chenoweth. Moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman Meier and unanimously car- ried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ACCEPTING DEED TO LOTS 21 AND 22 IPI BLOCK 30 AND ONE-HALF OF VACATE ED ALLEY ADJOINING ON TIr_- EAST OF SAID LOTS ALL IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIr'U't?NIA AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOP OF SAID CITY ' AND THE CITY CLERK TH—E r T'0^ TO DRAW l'IARRANT THE BALANCE OF THE PURLH.SE PRICE OF SAID LOTS. be read. This resolution was then read. I,4oved by Councilman Meier, seconded by Councilman Howqrd that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1053. City Clerk instructed to draw warrant for P'161.10 in favor of Richard M. Batte Moved and carried that the communications from R. C. Clapp be referred to the City Attorney to answer. Street Improvement on Cres- cent Dr. owned by P. E. Railway Co. to be paid by City. RESOLUTION NO. 1053 ADOP TED . FOR 18? MINUTES OF REGULAR I�IEETITIG HELD MONDAY, DECEMBER 5, 1927. Moved by Councilman Hownrd, seconded by Councilman Martin that the Cite pay up to 725.00 for bringing down title of Lots 21 and 22 in Block 30 in the City of Azusa. The same to be brought down to stand in name of the City of Azusa. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Bleier, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Chenoweth. The request of Marcus Miranda to cut the curb at #326 Dalton Avenue was granted. The work to be done under the supervision of the Street Superintendent. Moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman Meier that a tax refund of 7139.46 to Keith and Murray Vosburg and 75.37 to PJ. W. Heth be allowed and warrants drawn for the same. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: Council- man: Chenoweth. Moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman Meier that the City Attorney be instructed to draw up an amendment to Ordinance No. 252 increasing the salary of the City _Judge from 750.00 to 775.00. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: Council- man Chenoweth. City of Azusa as x25.00 for title on Lots Block 30. 7:30 P.I,I.119.3 to pay as much bringing down 21 and 22 in P-larcus Miranda given per- mission to cut curb. Keith and Murray Vosburg also 'dl. 1,W. Heth given re- fund of taxes. City Recorder's salary in- creased ;n25.00. A letter from Wallace & Tiernan having been read it was moved by Councilman Communication from 'Vallance Meier, seconded by Councilman Howard and & Ternan laid over until duly carried that the matter be laid over next meeting. until the next regular meeting. SALE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCi.TE'D IN THE CITY OF -ZUSA, CALIFORNIA. be placed on its second reading. This ordinance was then read for the second time. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, ilartin, Meier, Durrell. Noes: Alone. Absent: Council- man Chenoweth. Two applications for the furnishing of electric light globes to the City for the next twelve months were presented by the Morgan Hardward Co. and the Azusa Electric Shop and were referred to the Purchasing Committee.
