Present at roll call: Councilman: Howard, Martin, Meier, Chenov:eth, Durrell, City Attorney and City Clerk. The minutesof the last regular meeting of January 16, 1928 were read and ap- proved as read. An application from David Davies for ' the position of Park Superintendent was read. and, on motion by Councilman Chenoweth, seconded by Councilman Martin and duly carried, was laid on the table. The Mayor appointed Councilman Martin to represent the City Council on the Los Angeles County Public Health Advisory Committee. After a communication from the League of California Municipalities had been read it was moved by Councilman Martin, second- ed by Councilman Meier and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROVIDING THAT TWO PRINTED COPIES OF ALL ORDINANCES SHALL BE SENT TO THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA MUNICIPALITIES. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by Councilman Meier, seconded by Councilman Martin that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution ' No. 1062. Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier, Chenoweth, Durrell. Noes; None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Howard, Seconded by Councilman Meier and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING THE OLD CITY HALL BRICK BUILDING TO BE PERSONAL PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO AD- VERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE REMOVAL OF SAME. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman Chenoweth that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered resolution No. 1063. Moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman Meier and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIM CITY OF AZUSA ACCEPTING DEED TO LOTS FORTY- FOUR (44) AND FORTY-FIVE (45) AND ONE-HALF (2) VACATED ALLEY ADJOINING ON THE ?NEST OF SAID LOTS ALL IN BLOCK THIRTY (30), AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AND AUTHORIZING THE L4AYOR OF SAID CITY AND THE CITY CLERK THEREOF TO DRAW WARRANT FOR THE PURCHASE PRICE OF SAID LOTS. be read. Moved by Councilman Chenoweth, seconded by Councilman Meier and unanimously carried that an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REGULATING TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS AND REPEAL- ING ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTANT ' HEREWITH. be placed on its first reading. 'this Ordinance was then read for the first time. Mayor M. T. Durrell was appointed to attend the meeting at the Chamberof Commerce Building in Los Angeles re- garding the subject of State Parks for Southern California. Moved by Councilman Meier, seconded by Councilman Howard that the purchas- ing committee consider the purchasing of a new sirens. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilman Howard, Martin, Meier, Chenoweth, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent None. Moved by Councilman Chenoweth seconded by Councilman Meier that the 6ity Engineer be instructed to include in ' the work to be done on Azusa Avenue the laying of a four inch water pipe on the west side of the street, from First St. to Broadway. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier, Chenoweth, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: None. 7:30 P. M. 219 RESOLUTION NO. 1065 ADOPTED. ORDINANCE READ FOR THE FIRST TIME. Mayor to attend meeting of regarding subject of State Parks. The Council to consider the purchase of a new sirens. City Engineer insttucted to include a four inch pipe on Azusa Ave. 220 1 MINUTES OF REGULAR IvEETING HELD FEBRUARY 6, 1928. 7:30 P.IvI. 221 Moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman Meier that the people in charge of the Four Square Gospel Meetings should be allowed the use of fifty chairs for sixty days, for the sum of ten Dollars ($10.00), the chairs to be returned in as good shape as when taken. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier, Chenoweth, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Meier, seconded by Councilman Martin that Dr. Johnson, the pastor of the Methodist Church, be permitted to place a neat sign concern- ing his church service, on the lamp post at the corner of Foothill Boulevard and Alameda Avenue. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier, Chenoweth, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Chenoweth, seconded by Councilman Martin and duly carried that the following bills be allowed and warrants drawn upon the Treasury for the same.
