The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at theabove
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
Howard, Martin, Meier, Chenoweth, Durrell,
City Attorney and City Clerk.
Moved by Councilman Chenoweth, seconded
by Councilman Meier and duly carried
that the request of I. D. Roach to cut
the curb at 1036 Dalton Avenue be granted.
' The work to be done under the supervision
of the Street Superintendent.
Moved bM Councilman Martin, seconded by
Councilman Chenoweth that the request of
W. J. Holden to cut the curb at the corner
of Eleventh Street and Orange Avenue be
granted. The work to be done under the
supervision of the Street Superintendent.
Moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by
Councilman Martin and duly carried that
the First National Bank be permitted to
board up six feet on the side walk on
Azusa Avenues nd Foothill Boulevard and
be allowed a space measuring 20x6 feet
in the street to place material needed
in ther erection of the building.
At the request of School Superintendent,
C. C. Carpenter, it was moved by Council-
man Martin, seconded by Councilman Meier
that the Police Department be instructed
to paint'Lanes'and'Stops' at the corner
of Fifth Street and Soldano Avenue and
' Fifth Street and Pasadena Avenue.
Carried by the following vote ofthe Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier,
Chenoweth, Durrell. Noes: None.
Absent: None.
A communication was read from R. F. Gaudy
regarding the chlorination of the Canyon
water and ordered placed on file.
The City Clerk announed that one bid had
been received for the old City Hall Building,
namely $100.00 by A. B. Streeter of Monrovia.
Moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by
Councilman Meier that this bid be accepted
subject to all the conditions stated in
the "Notice of Sale".
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier,
Chenoweth, Durrell. Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by
Councilman Meier and unanimously carried
that an ordinance entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING A BUILDING SETBACK
LINE UPON THE PROPERTY FRONTING ON FIFTH
STREET BETWEEN THE EASTERLY CITY BOUNDARY
LINE AND ITS WESTERLY TERMINATION."
BE PLACED ON ITS SECOND READING.
This ordinance was then read for the
second time.

by Councilman Martin that this ordinance
beadopted as read and numbered

CITY OF AZUSA REQUIRING THE PLANNING
COMMISSION TO MAKE TENTATIVE REPORT.

MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY
ON THE 9TH DAY OF APRIL, 1928, GIVING A
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE VOTING PRECINCT
AND LOCATION OF THE POLLING PLACE, APPOINT-
ING THE ELECTION OFFICERS THEREFORE AND
DIRECTING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN OF SUCH ELECTION
AS REQUIRED BY LAW.

The City Clerk announced that he had received
four bids for the furniture for three offices
in the new City Hall. These having been
read, on motion, were laid over until Monday,
March 12 at 7:30 P.m.
A bid was read from E. H. Elkelos regaring
Venetian Blinds for the new City Hall. Moved
by Councilman Meier, seconded by Councilman
Howard that this bid be referred to the
Purchasing Committee with power to act.
