The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
Martin, Ideier, Chenoweth, Durrell,
City Attorney and City Clerk.
Absent: Councilman: Howard.
Councilman Howard entered the meeting
during the reading of the minutes and
took his seat.
The minutes of the last regular meeting
of April 2nd and the adiourn�d meeting
of April 6, 1928 were read and approved
as read.
Moved by Councilman Chenoweth, seconded
by Councilman Meier that the following Bills
bills be allowed and warrants be drain
upon the Treasury for the same.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council.:
Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, bleier,
Chenoweth, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: None.

The City Clerk reported that the
returns of the General municipal
Election held on I:donday, the 9th
day of April, 1928 in the City of
Azusa, California were then and
had been in his possession in the
envelopes containing them, in the
same condition as when received,
and the said Clerk presented said
returns to the City Council at
this meeting.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman
Meier, seconded by Councilman Martin
that the City Council proceed forth-
with to canvass said returns.
The motion was adopted by the following
vote:
Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier,
Chenoweth, Durrell. Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Said motion being carried, the City
Council them proceeded forthwith
to publicly examine and canvass said
returns and upon the completion of
said canvass by said Council it ap-
peared that the whole number of votes
cast in said City of Azusa at said
election was 975.( That the names of
the persons voted for, the offices for
which they were voted, the number of
votes given in each precinct to each
said persons, togetr,er with the whole
number of votes which they received in
the entire City of Azusa are as follows:

Councilman Meier that this resolution be
adopted as rend and numbered Resolution
No. 1085.

Council,

Chenoweth, Ihzrrel.l. Noes: None.
Absent: None.
The City Clerk then reported that he had
caused to be entered in the Minute Book
a statement of the result of said election,
showing all matters reauired by law to be
shown them in and that he had done so by
copying in the Resolution last hereinabove
set forth in full.
The City Councilmen elect, Messrs. Thomas A.
Smith and Elmer E. Dilley who were present
at the meeting, at this point immediately
took, subscribed and filed the constitutional
oath of office as required by law, and took
their seats at once with Councilmen Durrell,
Martin and Howard. The Council thus constituted
proceeded forthwith to organize.
Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by
Councilman Dilley and duly carried that
Councilman Howard be elected Mayor.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Smith,
Dilley, Durrell. Noes: None. Absent: Pione.
Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Council-
man Howard and duly carried that the City
Clerk lead in prayer.

The Clerk further reported that there
were no written protests filed up to
the hour of 7:30 P.t:. of April 16, 1928.
The Mayor then asked if any one present
had any objections to the assessment;
no one present objected; the Mayor then
declared that the Council had jurisdiction
to confirm the assessment and that a
resolution confirming, it was in order.
