The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above time
and place.
Present at roll call:
Martin, Smith, Dilley,
and City Clerk.
Councilmen: Durrell,
Howard, City Attorney
The minutes of the last regular meeting of
April 16, the adjourned meeting of April 23rd,
and of the Special Meeting of April 26, 1928
were read and approved as read.
Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by
Councilman Dilley that, it being the inten-
tion of the City Council. at the Special
meeting of April 26, 1928, to get an estimate
of the cost of the imnrovement of certain
streets in the City of Azusa and not to order
plans and specifications for the same, that
this change be shown in the minutes of this
Council of May 7, 1928.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Smith, Dilley, Howard.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilmen: Durrell and Martin declining to
vote.

of minutes of Special
Meeting.
A communication from the American Legion
Auxiliary asking that the Woman's Club
Building on City property be retained as a Communication from
Community Home was read, and, on motion by Councilman American
Martin, seconded by Councilman Smith, was laid on Legion laid

The Mayor appointed Councilmen Durrell, Smith,
and Dilley as a temporary Finance Committee.
The request of C. V. Patterson for work in
the Park was, on motion by Councilman Martin,
seconded by Councilman Dilley and duly carried
laid on the table.
The request of 0. M. Martin for a two weeks
vacation commencing May 15, 1928 was, on
motion by Councilman Durrell, seconded by
Councilman Vartin and duly carried, granted
with pay.
A letter vias read from the Auditor of the
City of Azusa offering to bring the Water
and Light Departments books, kept by the
late Consulting Engineer, J. E. Barker, up
to the end of the fiscal year for the same
remuneration as f;hat paid to Mr. Barker.
Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Council-
man Martin that this offer be accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Durrell, Martin, Smith,
Dilley, Howard. Noes: Nnne. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by
' Councilman Martin that the matter of in-
suring the Seagrave Fire Eneiney and the
Kimball truck be referred to the finance
committee with power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Dilley, Howard. Noes: None.

Moved by Councilman Durrell, seconded by
Councilman Dilley that the request of the
Murrey California Food Products Company
for the establishing of a loading zone
of not less than 25 feet in front of the
south one-half of their factory on Azusa
Avenue, be granted.
Carried by the following vot-, of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Durrell, Martin, Smith,
Dilley, Howard. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Dilley, seconded by
' Councilman Durrell that ::-'hereas the share
of the City of Azusa for the improvement
of Santa Fe Avenue and Dalt-n Avenue under
Resolution of Intention No. 1031 as per
the bill filed by the Azusa 'Tr;ansfer Co.
with said City is x2220.89.
Therefore I move that said bill. be allowed
and payment therefore be made from the
Motor vehicle Fund of the City of Azusa.

The City Clerk reported that this is the day, ho�ir and place for the
adjourned hearing of the protests against the bonds for the improve-
ment of Orange Avenue, Eleventh and Tenth Streets under Resolution
of Intention No. 1003.
The Clerk further reported that there were no written protests filed
up to the hour of 7:30 p.m. of April 23rd, 1920.
The Mayor than asked if any one present had any objections to the
assessment: no one present objected. The Mayor then declared that
the Council had jurisdiction. to order the bonds to be issued and
that a resolution was in order.
Moved by Councilman Durrell, seconded by Councilman Martin and
duly carried that the Oity Engineer be instructed to prepare a
resolution relative to same to be presented at, the next meeting on
May 21, 1928.
' The City Clerk reported that this is the day, hour and place fort he
hearing of the protests against the improvement of .Azusa and
San Gabriel Avenues under Resolution of Intention No. 1081.
The Clerk further reported that there were no written protests filed
up to the hour of 7:30 p.m. of May 7, 1928.
The Mayor then asked if any one present had any objections to the
assessment: no one present objected. The Mayor then declared that the
Council had jurisdiction to order the work and that a resolution was
in order.
Moved by Councilman Martin, seconded by Councilman Smith and unan-
imously carried that a resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OFAZUSA ORDERING THE WORK
TO BE DONE AND IMPROVEMENT TO BE MADE
UPON AZUSA AND SAN GABRIEL AVENUES INT
ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1081.

The matter of the sale of the old fire hose
