Present at roll. call.: Councilmen: Demmitt, Smith, Dilley, Howard, City Attorney and City Clerk. Later Councilman Stone entered. and took his seat. The Mayor introduced the matter of awnrlding the contract for the puTrn to be purchased for the City Well. Pioved by Councilman Smith,seconded by Council- man Dilley that this resolution beadopted a - read, --and numbered Resolution No. 1099. Carried by the follo,aing vote of the Council; Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith, Dilley, Howard. Noes: ?done. Absent: None. A communication was read from I.Irs W. G.Wheatley, President of the Woman's Club with regard to the Fire Insurance on the present Club House. Moved by Councilman Demmitt, seconded by Council- man Dilley that the City not take over the same. Carried by the fol.loni_ng vote of the Council: Fire Insurance for old Club house Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone,3nith, Dilley referred to ' Howard. Noes: None. Absent: None. Board of Public ,Norks. Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman Demmitt that, whereas, in the judge- ment of the City Council the Azusa Woman's Club House located on prone-ty owned by the City of Azusa is worth at least 73500.00 allowing for depreciation, that the Board of Public Viorks be instructed to see to the insuring of the same for $2500.00. Carried by the following vote of the Council; Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith, Dilley, Howard. Noes: None. Absent: None. The request of I:Ir. hopper for permission to place material. on the east 1.5 feet of Soldano Avenue during the construction of the building on D. B. White's lot was, on motion by Council- man Dilley, seconded by Councilman Demmitt and duly carried, granted. C meet —. Jack Pierce, Superintendent of the fight, and Water Department was instructed to inform E. A. Davis, Inc. that they must deliver the1 ton truck in thirty days otherwise the deal would be called off.
