The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Demmitt,
Stone, Smith, Howard, City Attorney, City
Clerk: Absent: Councilman: Dilley.
The minutes of the last regular meeting of
June 18th, the adjourned meeting of June
20th and the Special Meeting of June 26, 1928
were read and approved as read.
' A communication from Mrs. George Knight was
read.
Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Council-
man Stone that the resignation of Mrs. Knight
as a member of the Planning Commission be
accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith,
Howard. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Dilley,
Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Council-
man Stone that the Pacific Electric Railway
Company be granted permission to dig three
ditches across Ninth Street to be repaired by
the City of Azusa and the cost to be paid by
the Pacific Electric Railway Company.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith,
Howard. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Dilley.
A communication from the Azusa Laundry Company
was read and ordered placed on file.
Moved by Councilman Stone, seconded by Council-
man Dervnitt that L. M. Kauffey be instructed
to buy a file for the Building Inspector's
office.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith,
Howard. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Dilley.
A communication was read from Mrs. Ida Shaw
with regard to having the brush burned near
her ranch. The same was referred to the
Police and Sanitation Committee.
Moved by Councilman Demmitt, seconded by
Councilman Stone that the letter of R. Al.
Bates, Jr. Architect for the new City Hall,
with regard to the money due him from the
City, be laid on the table.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith,
Howard. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Dilley.

OF AZUSA ACCEPTING DEED TO LOT 43 AND ONE-
HALF VACATED ALLEY ADJOINING ON TIE 11FEST OF RESOLUTION NO. 1109
SAID LOT ALL IN BLOCK 30 AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTED.
' AND AUTHORIZING THE 14AYOR OF SAID CITY AND
THE CITY CLERK THEREOF TO DRAW WARRANT FOR
THE PURCHASE PRICE OF SAID LOT.

Moved by Councilman Demmitt, seconded by Council-
man Smith and unanimously carried that a
resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF TEE CITY COUNCIL OF TNT, CITY OF
AZUSA BEING AN ORDER PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE
OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS PRESCRIBING THE
DENOMINATION OF SUCH BODS AND OF THE INTEREST
COUPONS ATTACHED THERETO.

Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Council-
man Stone and unanimously carried that an
ordinance entitled:

TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS AND REPEALING ORDINA14CE READ FOR
ALL ORDINANCES INCOJSISTANT HERE11'ITH• THE FIRST TIME.
BE PLACED ON ITS FIRST READING.
This ordinance was then read for the first
time.
Moved by Councilman Demitt, seconded by Council-
man Smith that all bills for printing in which
there appears to be errors are to be referred to Mr. Broxon to correct
Mr. Broxon and if he finds the contention of the errors in printin
City Council to be correct he is to reimburse
the City for same, the last bill of July 1, 1028,
to be checked and referred to the City Attorney.
