HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - August 13, 1928 - CCCITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFnRNIA, MONDAY, AUGUST 13, 1928. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith, Dilley, Howard. City Attorney and City Clerk. A communication was read from the City of Pomona asking; permission to place a banner across the Foothill Boulevard advertising the County Fair. Moved by ' Councilman Dilley, seconded by Council- man Stone that this permission be grant- ed. Carried b,: the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith, Dilley, Howard. Noes: None. Absent:None. Moved by Councilman Dilley seconded by Councilman Stone that the 6ity Clerk be instructed to write the Heywood -Wakefield Company informing them that the City Council wanted 18 rows of chairs in the auditorium, 22 chairs in a row, a total of 396 chairs. The chairs to have brown enamel standards high -lighted with gold bronze. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smth, Dilley, Howard. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Dilley, seconded by Councilman Demmitt that a warrant be drawn for the final payment of the jail equipment in favor of the Usona Iron Co. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dermitt, Stone, Smith, Dilley, Howard. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Stone, seconded by Councilman Smith that warrants be drawn for $225.00 inital payment on the Ford Truck and $121.00 for additional equipment, in favor of E. p,. Davis, Inc. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith, Dilley, Hov:.rard. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Demmitt, seconded by Councilman Dilley that a warrant be dra n for $1000.00, the first payment on the contract for a new pump, in favor of the Byron Jackson Company. K. First payment on pump $1000.00, to Byron - Jackson Co. Moved by Councilman Stone, seconded by Councilman Smith and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOT.UTIO?`I 07 THE CITY COUNCIL OF T11E CITY OF AZUSA ORDERING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE I11PROVE1vENT OF ELEVENTH STREET 1,,-I:ST OF AZUSA AVENUE IIID THE CITY OF AZUS::. 1.. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by Councilman Dilley, seconded by Councilman Smith that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered resolution No. 1115. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith, Dilley, Howard. Noes: None. Absent: None.
