The City Council of the Cite of Azusa
met in Special Session at theabove
time and place.
Present at rollccall: Councilmen: Stone,
Dilley, Howard, City Attorney and City
Clerk. Absent: Councilmen: Demmitt, Smith.
The following Notice of Special Meeting was read.
' November 27, 1928.
NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
I hereby call a Special Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Azusa, to meet at the Council chamber in the
Auditorium of the new City Hall Building on Tuesday, the 27th
day of November, 1928, at 8:30 P.M. of said day.
The object of this meetingis to pass upon, and
accept or reject the resignation of the following Councilmen,
to -wit:
F. C. Stone E. E. Dilley
Thomas A. s mith C. H. Howard
And appoint four Councilmen to fill each vacancy as each
resignation isaccepted.

Dr. James E. Hill arose and declared the
' meeting illegal.

I hereby certify that I received the attached
Notice of Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Azusa at 5:10 P.M. on Tuesday, the 27th day of November, 1928,
and that I served the same on the hereinafter named persons,
who are members of the City Council of the City of Azusa at the
time set after their respective names by personally delivering to
and leaving withs aid persons a true copy of the attached
Notice of Special Meeting.

' The City Clerk read a com unication from
Thomas A. Smith resigning as a Councilman
for the City of Azusa.
Moved by Councilman Stone, seconded by
Councilman Dilley that Councilman Smith's
Resignation be accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Stone, Dilley, Howard.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt.

MINUTES OF SPECIAL SESSION HELD NOVEMBER 27, 1928. 8:30 P.M.
Moved by Councilman Stone, seconded
by Councilman Dilley that Joseph C.
Muehe be appointed to succeed Thomas A.
Smith as Councilman.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Stone, Dilley, Howard.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt.
Joseph C. Muehe who was present at the
meeting immediately took, subscribed and
filed the constitutional oath of office
' as required by law and took his seat.
A communication from F. C. Stone was read
offering his resignation as a Councilman
for the City of Azusa.
Moved by Councilman Dilley, seconded by
Councilman Muehe that Councilman Stone's
resignation be accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Muehe, Dilley, Howard.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt.
Moved by Councilman Dilley, seconded by
Councilman Muehe that Walter A. Johnson
be appointed to succeed F. C. Stone as
Councilman.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Muehe, Dilley, Howard.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt.
Walter A. Johnson who was present at the
meeting immediately took, subscribed and
' filed the consitutional oath of office as
required by law and took his seat.
A communication from E. E. Dilley was read
offering his resignation as a Councilman
for the City of Azusa.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by
Councilman Johnson that Councilman Dilley's
resignation be accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Muehe, Howard.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt.

Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by
Councilman Johnson that August L. Meier be
appointed to succeed Councilman Dilley as
Councilman.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, tvfuehe, Howard.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt.
Soon after August L. 11eier entered the
Council Chamber whereupon he took subscribed
and filed the constitutional oath'o.f office
as required by law and took his seat.
A communication from C. H. Howard was read
offering his resignation as a Councilman for
the City of Azusa.
Moved by Councilman Meier, seconded by°Counn,i-
man Johnson that Councilman Howard's resignation
be accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Muehe, Meier, Noes:
None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Council-
man Johnson that August L. Meier be appointed
President of the City Council and Mayor of the
Joseph C. Muehe to
succeed Thomas A. Smith
as Councilman.

succeed F. C. Stone as

Noes: None.

Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by
Councilman Johnson and duly carried
that the Council adjourn.
