CITY.HALL. AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MARCH 18, 1929.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen Johnson, Yace,
Muehe, Meier, City Attorney and City Clerk.
Absent: Councilman Demmitt.

The minutes of the last regular meeting of March,
4, 1929 were read and approved as read.
A communication from the City Clerk of Ventura
was read.
Moved. by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman
Mace that the City Clerk be instructed to write
asking Miss Meil.andt for an explanation of the
Clerks, Auditors and Treasurers Association and
amount of membership fee.
A communication was read from the Azusa -Covina -
Glendora Exchange with regard to the eradication.
of Argentine Ant on Azusa town lots.
The City Clerk was instructed to co-operate with
Mr. Breeht in having these lots treated at a
cost not to exceed fifty dollars.

Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt.

Muehe that this agreement be accepted.

Moved by Councilman P.2uehe, seconded by Councilman
Mace that the City Clerk be instructed to sign
contract betneen the City of Azusa and the
Standard Oil. Company quoting gas price'as follows:
The Seller's current posted wholesale
price for Red Crown Gasoline at time and ^lace
of delivery, less three cents per gallon, except
that the price to be paid by the Buyer shall at
no time be higher than the maximum prices shown
below (including present State Motor Vehicle
Fuel Tax) at points of delivery named.
MAXIMUM PRICE.
Following is the maximum price per gallon (including
present State Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax) to be paid
by the Buyer for deliveries hereunder at the
points named:

MINUTES OF REGULAR MEF:TTNG HELD MARCH 18, 1929.
The City Clerk reported that the Southern
Counties Gas Company wished a ,,.ritten permit
to make excavations on certain streets for the
improvement of their system.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman
'Mace that the City Attorney be instructed to co-
operate with the Street Superintendent in writing
'permit for same.
Carried by the following vote of the Council.
,Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Place, Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt.
A communication from Adams & Ells applying for
' position as City Engineer was read and ordered
placed on file.

Communication filed.
The City Clerk presented a petition for the Improvement
of Foothill Boulevard filed March 7, 1929, and. reported
37 signatures representing 3,794 feet fronting on Petition on
the boulevard. Foothill. Boulevard
This was referred to the City Engineer for checking. filed.
The Engineer reported that same represented 23.8°
of frontage.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman
Mace that petition be placed on file.
Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman
Muehe and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, CALT,F`ORNIA PROVIDTNG FOR THE TR.,NSFER OF RESOLUTION NO.
FIVE THOUSAND DOT,LARS (85,000.00) FROb'[ THP LIGHT 1132 ADOPTED.
FUND TO THE GENERAL PUNT). be read. This resolution
was then read.
Moved by Councilman Pduehe, seconded by Councilman
Mace that this resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution Number 1132.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt.
The City Clerk reported that this is the day, hour
and place for the hearing of the protests against
the improvement of Azusa and San Gabriel Avenues
under Resolution of Intention No. 1081.
The Clerk further reported that there were no written
protests filed up to the hour of 7:30 P. M. of March 18,1929.
The Mayor then asked if any one present had any
objections to the assessment: No one present objected.
The Mayor then declared that the Council had ,jurisdiction
to order the work and that a resolution was in order.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman
Mace and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA APPROVING THE PROCEEDINGS AND
CONFIRMING THE ASSESSMENT AND DIAGRAM FOR THE RESOLUTION NUMBER
hr?PROVEMFNT OF PORTIONS OF AZUSA AND SAN GABRIEL 1133 ADOPTED.
AVENUES AS DESCRIBED TN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 1081 AND ORDERING TIT, STREET SUPERINTENDENT
TO DRAW THE WARRANT. be read. This resolution was
then read.
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman
Johnson that this resolution be adopted as read
and numbered Resolution Number 1133.

Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt.
The City Clerk reported that she had received one bid for the
installation of sidewalk and curb in City Park as follows:
1. 7925 Sq. Ft. Concrete Sidewalk----- ieI Total $1426.50
2. 243 Ft. Curb.----- 50d Total 121.50

Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman
Mace that this bid be rejected and the City Clerk
instructed to return to Peter Stenderup the Cashier's

arbitrator to represent the City of Azusa in
condemnation proceedings pendening, relative
to ]Lots 24 and 25 in Block 30, City of Azusa.

Noes:. None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman
Mace and duly carried that the folinwing bills
be allowed and warrants ordered drawn. upon
the Treasury for the same.
