The City Council of .the City of Azi— a
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. City
Attorney and City Clerk. Absent
Councilman Demr.,itt.
The minutes of the last regular meeting
of March 18th and of the adjourned
meeting of March 25, 1929, were read
' and approved as corrected.
Moved by Councilman I,4uehe, seconded
by, Councilman Johnson that Mr. !'!.
A. Jones be appointed arbitrator
to represent the City of Azusa in
condemnation proceedings, pending,
relative to Lots 24 and 25; Lots
27 to 35 inclusive and Lot 42 all
in Block 30, City of Azusa. carried
by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace,
Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman
Demmitt.
Councilman Demmitt entered and took
his seat during the reading of the
minutes.
A Communication from the International
Airports Corporation was read.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded
by Councilman Mace, and duly carried
that the same be referred to the Azusa
Chamber of Commerce.
A communication from F. C. Collins,
Secretary for the San Gabriel Valley
Protective Association was read.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded
by Councilman Mace and duly carried
that this petition be laid on the
table until the adjourned meeting of
April 5, 1929. Carried by the
following vote of the Council.
Ayes: 'Councilmen: Johnson, Mace,
Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Councilman Demmitt
not voting.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded
by Councilman Johnson that the request
of Charles Barr to hang two banners,
one on Azusa Avenue and one on Foothill
Boulevard be referred to the Board
of Public Works with power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the
'Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace,
Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Councilman Demmitt not
voting.
The City Clerk presented petition filed
March 30, 1929 for improvement of
Foothill Boulevard with five additional
names. Moved by Councilman Muehe,
seconded by Councilman Johnson that the
petition filed by Dr. Brooks for the
improvement of Foothill Boulevard be
referred to the City Engineer for
checking and to report back at next
meeting. Carried by the following

Noes: None. Councilman Demmitt
not voting.
The City Clerk presented a petition
by L. Case filed April 1, 1929
for a bond issue paving both Azusa
Avenue and Foothill Boulevard,
with 401 signatures.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded
by Councilman Mace that this petition
be laid on the table. Carried by
the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace,
Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. flouncilman Demmitt
not voting.
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded
by Councilman Muehe that the
following bills be allowed and warrants
ordered drawn upon the Treasury for
the same. Carried by the following
vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace,
Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Councilman Demmitt
not voting.
