AN ORDINANCE OF TBE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TIE CITY OF AZUSA
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO LAY OUT, OPEN AND EXTEND PARLMOUNT AVENUE
FROIB ITS PRESENT EASTERLY TER2viINATION IN PIEDMONT AVENUE TO THE
WESTERLY LINE OF AZUSA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF AZUSA CALIFORNIA.
The Board. of$ Trustees of the City of Azusa do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require and
that it is the intention of ,,the board of Trustees of the City of
Azusa to order the following improvement to be made in said City,
pursuant to the provisions of an act of the. Legislature of the
State of California entitled, ^An Act to provide for the laying
out, opening, extending, widening, or straightening, in whole or
in part of publid streets, squares, etc. Approved March 24, 1903
and known as the 'Street Opening Act of 1903^ and all acts sup-
plementary thereto or amendatory thereof to -wit:
(Avenue to be Opened.)
First: That an avenue, sixty (60) feet wide, to be known
as Paramount Avenue, shall be layed out, opened and extended, from
the present easterly termination of said Paramount Avenue in
Piedmont Avenue, as shown on map of Tract #8507 as recorded in
Book 102, Pages 78-79 of maps, records of Los Angeles County,
California, easterly to Azusa Avenue; said avenue to be a strip of
land sixty (60) feet wide, extending thirty (30) feet on each side
of the following described center line, to -wit:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 29 of Subdivision
No. 2, Azusa Land and Water Co., as recorded in Book 43, Page 94,
N..iscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, thence easterly along
the South line of said Lot 29, 1320 feet to the southeast corner of
said Lot 29, thence easterly along the south line of Lot 47 of
said Subdivision No. 20 1320 feet to the southeast corner of said
Lot 47; thence easterly along the south line of Lot 50 of said
Subdivision No. 2, 1235 feet to the beginning of a curve tangent
to said south line concave to the north crest and having a radius
of 200 feet, thence along said curve 87.80 feet to the beginning
of a curve concave to the southeast, tangent to above mentioned
curve and. having a radius of 200 feet, the point of reversed

curvature being the center line of South Vernon Avenue; thence along
said curve concave to the Southeast 87.80 feet, thence easterly
2515 feet along a line tangent to said curve and parallel to and ten feet
south of the lot lines of Lots 12 and 4 of Block "A",Lots 12 and 4 of
Block "B", respectively, of Subdivision No. 1 Azusa Land and Water Co.,
to a point in the westerly line of Azusa avenue, which point is 670 feet
southerly of Lot 3, Block "BIT' of said Subdivision ITo. 1 Azusa Land and
Fater Co. of Los Angeles County, California as the same appears in map
recorded in Book 16, Page 17, Miscellaneous Records. Reference to map
and plan No. 1037, on file in the office of the City Engineer, showing
the right of way, the lands to be taken or damaged and the assessment
district, is hereby made for further particulars; said plan ITo. 1037
having been. approved and adopted by the Board of Trustees, January 18,
1926.
SECTIO'd 2.
(The Assessment District.)
Whereas, the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, having
determined that the improvement to be made is of more than ordinary
or local benefit hereby declares that the assessment to be made for
the improvement of Paramount Avenue is to be borne by the district
benefited; said district is described as follows: Beginning at the
southwest corner of Lot 29 of Subdivision No. 2 Azusa Land and Water
Co., as recorded in Book 43, Page 94, Miscellaneous Records of Los
Angeles County, thence northerly 710 feet along the westerly line of
said Lot 29, thence easterly 4000 feet to the northwest corner Of
Lot 11 of Block "ATM of Subdivision Ido. 1 Azusa Land and Water Co., as
recorded in Book 16, Page 17, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, thence easterly 510 .feet along the northerly line of Lot 11 of
said. Block "A", thence easterly 550 feet along the northerly line of Lot
3 of said Btock "A", thence easterly 770 feet along the northerly line
of Lot 11 of Block "B'r of said Subdivision Ido. 1, thence easterly 730
feet along the northerly line of Lot 3 of said Block "B", thence south-
erly 330 feet along the easterly line of said Lot 3, thence southerly
330 feet along the easterly line of Lot 4 of said Block, "B" of said Sub-
division, Ido. 1 Azusa Land and. dater Company, thence

southerly 402.aa feet along the easterly line of Lot 1 of Azusa Foot-
hill Citrus Co. Tract as recorded in Book 5, Page 30 of Maps, Records
of Los Angeles County, thence 117.99 feet along a curve concave to
the northwest and having a radius of 363.06 feet, said curve being
the northwesterly boundary line of the Los Angeles County Flood Con-
trol Right of May through said Lot 1, thence South,- 35' 19' 30" west
114.71 feet along the said Right of way boundary line tangent to
said curve , thence South 60' 15' 3511 west 227.44 feet, thence West-
erly S3.6 feet to the southwest corner of said Lot 1, thence wester-
ly 2130 feet along the south lines of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5 of said
Azusa Foothill Citrus Co. Tract, thence westerly 4000 feet to a
point in the westerly line of Lot 28 of said Subdivision No., 2 Azusa
Land and Eater Co. which said point is 611.8 feet southerly from the
northwesterly corner of said Lot 28 thence northerly along said
westerly line 611.8 feet to the point of beginning; excepting there- .
from so much o3 said land which may be included within the lines of
any public street or alley; the basis of bearings used in this
description being Apmea Avenue North. Reference is hereby .muds to
11ap and Plan No. 1037, on file in the office of the City Engineer,
of the right of way and the assessment district; said map and plan
having been approved and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City
of Azusa, January 18, 1926.
SECTION 3. Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 5th day of
April, 1926 at 7:30 o'clock P.I. in the Council Chamber of the
Board of Trustees of said City any and all persons having any objection
to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said Board and
show cause why said prorpsedimprovement should not be carried out.
All of said work shall be done in accordance with the plgns
heretofore adopted for doing said work and now on file in the office
of the City Engineer.
The clerk shall cause this Ordinance of Intention to be pub-
lished twice in the Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper, published and
circulated in said City and. hereby designated for that purpose by
the Board of Trustees, there being no daily newspaper published
in said City.

The Street Superintendent shall publish twice in said Pomotropic
and cause to be conspicuously posted along all the line of said con-
templated work and improvement and along all the open. streets within
said district above described and in front of all the property liable
to be assessed, notices of the passage of this Ordinance of Intention,
in the time, form and manner required by law.
All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of
an Act of Legislature of the State of California, designated the
"Street Opening Act of 1903," approved march 24, 1903, and amendments
thereto.
