The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular adjourned session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. A communication from C. C. Kimbrell was read. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that C. C. Kimbrell be granted a two weeks vacation 'with pay, beginning July 1, 1929. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt. A communication from the Automobile Club of Southern California was presented. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace that insurance on Seagrave fire truck be referred to the Audit+ng- & Finance Committee with power to act. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt. A communication signed by C. E. Kimlin and others regarding hearing set by Railroad Commission, on rates, tolls and other business was read. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by 'Councilman Johnson that the City Attorney be instructed to attend this meeting on June 7, 1929. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Johnson that the Mayor be authorized to sign contract between the County of Los Angeles Health Department and City of Azusa on behalf of the said City and the City Clerk be instructed to attest said signature. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING THE OFFICE OF JANITOR VACANT, APPOINTING JOHN PINKSTAFF TO THAT OFFICE AND FIXTNG HIS SALARY OR 'COMPENSATION. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1138. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt. C. C. Kimbrell granted a two weeks vacation with pay. 51 Matter of insurance for the Fire Truck referred to the Audit and Finance Committee. City Attorney instructed to attend meeting. Mayor authorized to sign contract with Los Angeles County Health Department. RESOLUTION NO. 1138 ADOPTED. CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MAY 279 1929. 7:30 P. M. Chas. Mace. J. C. Muehe. The contract between the City of Azusa and Paul E. Kressly was presented. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Muehe and unanimously carried that the Mayor be authorized to sign same and the City Clerk instructed to attest said signature. ORDINANCE & JUDICIARY. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING THE OFFICE OF PARK SUPERINTENDENT VACANT. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1139. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING THE OFFICE OF SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER C. D. LEACH AND THE OFFICE OF TRAFFIC OFFICER, 0. M. MARTIN VACANT AND APPOINTING 0. M. MARTIN TO THE OFFICE OF SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER AND FIXING HIS SALARY OR COMPENSATION. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Johnson that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1140.
