The City Council of the City of
Azusa met in regular session at the
above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
Demmitt, Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier.
City Attorney and City Clerk.
The minutes of the last regular
meeting of May 20th and the adjourned
meeting of May 27th, 1929 were read
and approved as read.
' A communication from Mrs 67. R. Davies 1',",rs Davies application
was read. Moved by Councilman Muehe, ordered filed.
seconded by Councilman Mace and duly
carried that same be ordered placed
on file.
A communication from Edward G.
Hurt and one from R. F. Crang were
read. Moved by Councilman Mace,
seconded by Councilman iMljphe that
the applications of Ed Hurt and R.
F. Crang be referred to the Police
and Sanitation Committee with power
to act.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council.:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace,
Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Demmitt not voting.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded
by Councilman Johnson that James Morgan
be given a two weeks vacation with pay.
Carried by the following vote of the

Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace,
Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Demmitt not voting.
The resignation of 0. M. Martin and
his application for a two weeks
vacation was read. Moved by Councilman
Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace
that 0. M. Martin be given a two weeks
vacation with pay and his resignation
accepted after June 15th, 1929.

Muehe, Meier.

A communication from the State
Department of Public Health, written
by C. G. Gillispie, Chief of Bureau
of Sanitary Engineering was read.
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded
' by Councilman Muehe that same be
referred to the City Attorney to
report at next meeting.
A communication from Association of
City Planners was read and ordered
placed on file.
The applications of Ivlrs_Daisy Flynn
and Mr. C. L. Martin were read.
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by
Councilman Muehe that same be referred
to Audit and Finance Committee to
report back at next meeting.
Mr. Hurt and Lfr Crang's
applications referred to the
Police and Sanitation Comm.
James Morgan granted two
weeks vacation with pay.

weeks vacation with pay.
Communication from Dept. of
Public Health referred to City
Attorney to report back at
next meeting.
Communication ordered
placed on file.

by Councilman Mace and unanimously
carried that a resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF -THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF AZUSA. DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO ORDER THE PLANTING,
PROTECTION AND MAINTENANCE OF TREES
ALL,ONG AND IN CERTAIN PORTIONS OF PAS-
ADENA AVENUE AND OTiiER STREETS AND
AVENUES WITHIN SAID CITY, UNDsR THE
"TREE; PLANTING ACT OF 1915."

resolution be adopted as read and

carried that an Ordinance entitled:

LICENSING, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVENUE
AND REGULATION, ALL AND EVERY KIND OF
BUSINESS AUTHORIZED BY LAW AND TRANS-
ACTED AND CARRIED ON IN THE CITY OF
AZUSA, ATM ALL SHOWS, EXFIBITIONS AND
LAWFUL GAMES'CARRIED ON THEREIN, FIXING
THE RATE OF.LICENSE TAX UPON THE
SA?11E, PROVIDING PENALTY FOR ALL VIOLAT-
IONS THEREOF

ANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE.
