AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
establishing Fire Districts in said City of Azusa.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That all that certain territory in the City
of Azusa bounded on the north by the south line of Ninth
Street; on the west by the center of the alley between Azusa
Avenue and San Gabriel Avenue; on the south by the north
line of Sixth Street; on the east (from,Sixth) Straet to
Centre Streit and from the tracks of the Atchison, Topeka

& Santa Fe Railway to Ninth Street) by the center of the alley
between Azusa Avenue and Alameda Avenue, and (frons Centre
Street to the tracks of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Rail -
any) by Dalton Avenue.
SECTION 2. All alterations of or enlargements of build-
ings and all buildings hereafter erected or constructed within
the said Fire District shall. be made and constructed of brick,
or stone, or both, or concrete; and every building newly
roofed or coverK .wi'thin said Fire District shall be construct-
ed with side walls or party walls of brick, or stone, or con-
crete, and these shall be extended from the foundation of and
through the roof of the building, and shall be so constructed
as to thoroughly separate all mood from the exterior and the
interior of other adjoining buildings; and every such side
wall and party wall shall pass through the roof of the build-
ing to which it may appertain in such manner as to break any
communication ihatever between the roof of said building and
any other building. The weolher roofing; of all roofs shall
be of incunbhstible material.

SECTIUN 3. No person shall build or alter any building

of brick or stone or good in said Fire District, unless said
3
building shall be built or is altered in con fonuity with the
4
provisions of this ordinance relating to the erection, altera-
5
tion or enlargwaant of buildings within the District.

SECTION 4. Any person violating ti -is ordinance, or any
provisions thereof, or neglecting or ref using to comply with
8
any provisions theraof, shall be deemed guilty of a laisdemean-
9
or, and shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in a sum not
10
less than five dollars, nor. more than one hun(9.red dollars,
11
or be punishable by imprisonnent in the City Jail.of the'City
12
of Azusa for a period of not less than five days nor more than
13
fifty days, or by both Buell fine and imprisonnent; and every
' 14
day upon ifl,ich any provision of this ordinance shall be viola -
15
ted by any person or persons shall constitute a neer and separ-
16
ate offense, and shall be punishable acro&dingly.

SECTIUN 5. The office of Building Inspector of the City of
18
Azusa is hereby created and all appointments to such office
19
shall be made by resolution duly passed by said Board of Trust -
20
ees, and which said resolution shall also fix the salary or
21
compensation to be paid the appointee therein nained, and such
22
appointee shall hold office during the pleasure of said board.

The d:tias of such inspector shall be to enforce the pro -
24
visions of this ordinance, and generally to do and perform
25
such duties as the Board of Trustees shall, by ordinance or
26
otherwise direct.

SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
28
this ordinanc,3 and shall cause the same to be published once
29
in the Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper of general circulation
30
published and circulated in the City of Azusa.
