The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
Demmitt, Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier,
City Attorney and City Clerk.
The minutes of the last regular meet-
ing of July 1, 1929 were readand ap-
proved as read.
' A communication from the Azusa Chamber
of Commerce was read.
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by
Councilman Muehe that the Superinten-
dent of Light and Water be instructed
to remove the banners on Azusa. Avenue
and Foothill Boulevard.
Carried by the following vote of the
Coundil:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe,
Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman: Demmitt not voting.
A communication from the Azusa Chamber
of Commerce requesting a donation from
the City of Azusa to place an exhibit
at the Pomona Fair was read.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by
Councilman Mace that this matter be defer-
red for thirty days.
Carried by the folloz,ing vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe,
Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None.

The monthly report of work accomplished
by the Los Angeles Health Department was County Health Report ordered
presented. placed on file.
Moved and carried that same be placed on
file.
Chief of Police, C. E. Gauldin!s application for a
two weeks vacation was read.
Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by
Councilman Johnson i.hat same be granted
with pay.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe,
Meier. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman: Demmitt not voting.
A communication from the Azusa Chamber
of Commerce together with a detailed
report on the present water distribution
system was read.
Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by
Councilman Mace that this matter be re-
ferred to the Council as a Committee of
the Whole to report at the adjourned meet-
ing of the City Council to be held July
22, 1929.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:

A communication from the Railroad commission
of the State of California addressed to Paul
E. Kressly,City Engineer, regarding a permit
for the construction of a. gr,^.de crossing at
Virginia Avenue(from the State Railroad Com-
mission)was read.
Moved by Councilman T:Tuehe, seconded by Council-
man place that the City Attorney be instructed
to obtain a permit for o, grads crossing at
Vriginia Avenue from the State Railroad Com-
mission.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman: Demmitt
not voting.
A Grant Deed between the Cit,; of Azusa and
the Azusa Foothill -Citrus Company was presented.
Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Council-
man Johnson that same be accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mn ce, Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Demmitt
not voting.
Moved by Councilman Iduehe, secon-led by Council-
man Mace that the following bills be allowed
and warrants ordered dr2.vm upon the Treasury
for the same.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier.
Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Demmitt
not voting.
