THE 3 ELECTRIC SYSTEM OF SAID CITY AND ESTABLISHING THE 22 RATES FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE BY SAID CITY AND RE - 4 PEALING ORDINANCE NO. 114 IN RELATION THERETO. SCHEDULE NO. 3 5 The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do ordain 23 9 as follows: 7 SECTION 1. W 1 21 A minimum charge will be made of $2.00 per month. 22 SCHEDULE NO. 3 23 PU12I1:G PLANT SERVICE 18TERED, APPL ILABLE TO INSTALLATIONS IN 24 Wp.-n s np 25 WnPSTS'. P5?7mip_ 25 x;2.75 per calendar month per kilowatt of maximum demand, 26 to which charge shall be added an energy charge of seventy-five hundredths (.75) cents per kilowatthour 27 for all energy used. 28 The minimum annual charge under this schedule shall not be less than ;6.00 per horse power of installed capacity. 29 Energy under this schedule will be furnished only at 3o approximately 2200 volts. 31 For energy furnished at a less voltage than 2200 volts 32. through city transformers, a charge of � .25 per month per kilowatt of installed capacity will be made in addition to the rates in this schedule. -1- ,, z This schedule shall not apply for any energy used during the months of October, November, December and January but in the event that the consumer under this schedule shall be supplied with energy during any of said months, he shall pay during the next 12 consecu- 1 tive calendar months beginning February 1st of each year for a monthly maximum demand of not less than 85 of his highest monthly 2 maximum demand during the said next preceeding months of October, November and December and January. 3 This schedule is subject to modification by special contract 4 that may be entered into by the city with the consumer to provide for special conditions of service as to such consumer. 5 SCHEDULE NO.4 6 MUNICIPAL SERVICE. 7 For all energy supplied for street lighting and for use in Public Library and City Hall, a rate of 4 cents per S kilowa.tthour will be charged to that city department -receiving such service. 9 For energy supplied for the operation of city pumping plant; 10 1-1-¢ per kilowatthour for energy used during off-peak 11 hours. 12 For energy used during peak hours the rates in Schedule No. 3 shall apply. 13 14 SECTION 2. All meters used by the consumers must be so placed 15 on the buildings upon which they are located that they may be acces- 16 sible to the Superintendent of the Electric System or his assistants at all times. 17 18 All meters used in the electric service of the City of Azusa 19 shall be under the control of the City of Azusa, and the City of 20 Azusa may at its option place a meter upon any building or room to 21 which it is supplying electric service. The City of Azusa will not 22 be responsible for damages to any buildings or their contents from 23 any break in its vires beyond the meter. The City of Azusa will 24 connect its lines to the meter located on any building or room con - 25 forming to the provisions of this ordinance as to wiring and dis- 26 tante. The wiring for electric service in any building hereafter 27 erected, altered or repaired, shall be subject to the inspection and 28 approval of the Superintendent of the Electric System. 29 SECTION 3. All electricity furnished to consumers in the City 30 of Azusa shall be charged to the owner of the premises to which the 31 electric service is furnished and the owner of said premises shall be 32 held responsible for the payment of the electric service bills fur- nished to premises owned by him. -2- 1 2 3 4 6 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 an7U< °-� 15 �h2 yAdd 18 i*i F 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 26 26 27 28 29 3o 31 32 SECTION 4. Service rates will be charged for premises vacated in every instance until the City shall be notified by the owner of the premises or his agent in writing, filed with the Sup- erintendent of the Electric System of the discontinuance of the ser -1 vice and to disconnect the same. SECTION 5. The Superintendent of the Electric System or any duly authorized employee of the City shall be admitted at all reasonable hours to all parts of the premises supplied with elec- tricity to see that the regulations of this ordinance are observed. No one except the Superintendent of the Electric System or someone expressly authorized by him shall turn the electricity on or off from any building or premises. No person shall tap any electric wire belonging to the City of Azusa or in any manner whatever meddle or interfere with any part of said Electric System, machinery, tools or appliances used in connection therewith, without the written per- mission of the Superintendent. SECTION 6. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis- demeanor and upon conviction thereof in a court of competent juris- diction shall be fined not less than five nor more than fifty dol- lars, or be punished by imprisonment in the City Jail not exceeding twenty-five days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 7. The office of Superintendent of the Electric System shall be and is hereby created and a7.1 appointments to such office shall be made by resolution of the Board of Trustees of said City of Azusa, duly passed at a regular meeting thereof, which said resolution shall fix the salary or compensation to be paid the ap- pointee therein named, and such appointee shall hold office during the pleasure of said Board of Trustees. SECTION 8. He shall have general supervision over all repairs, tappings and additions to the System and cut off or cause to be cut off the service from any consumer upon the written report of the Collector of Revenues showing the non-payment of service bills or upon any violation of any of the provisions of this Ordinance, and generally to do and perform every duty required of him by law or any ordinances of said city or by said Board of Trustees. SECTION 9. It shall be the duty of the Superintendent to keep all accounts relating to said Electric System and to make out and deliver to the Collector of Revenues of said city on or before the second day of each month, meter readings for all electric ser- vices furnished by said city during the preceding month. SECTION 10. Parties wishing electric service or the dis- continuance of the same must sign the regular blanks provided, giv- ing the street number where service is desired. Where service is turned on or off within sixty days from institution or discontinuance a charge of 25 cents will be made. There the prospective consumer is more than 250 feet dis- tant from the nearest pole on the street or alley next to the pro- perty to be connected or where there is difficulty in getting ser- vice to said consumer, a contract must be entered into for extra compensation to the City of Azusa, and the Superintendent shall re- commend such extra compensation after he shall have made an examina- tion of the case. In no case shall a new connection be made unless the applicant agrees to use the service for at least six months. It shall.be unlawful for any person to tie or hitch any animal to any electric pole in the City of. Azusa. SECTION 11. That Ordinance No. 114 of the City of Azusa, entitled "An Ordinance providing for the regulation of the Electric Plant and establishing the rates for electric service and repealing 1 1 Ordinances number 77 and 82 of the City of Azusa", adopted December 2 27th, 1909, be and the same is hereby repealed. 3 SECTION 12.
