and 7 Whereas, the estimated cost of said municipal improvement 8 is Six Thousand ($61,000.00) Dollars, and such estimated cost 9 is and will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual 10 income and revenue of said City; 11 Section 2: Now, therefores, a special election is hereby 12 called to be held in the said City of Azusa, California, on the 13 30th day of September, 1919, for the purpose of submitting to 14 the qualified voters of the said City the following proposition 16 set forth in said Resolution: , 16 The proposition of incurring a bonded debt of the sum 17 of Six Thousand ($69000.00) Dollare, for the acquisition of 18 land and the construction thereon of a gymnasium and baths, for 19 the use of the City of Azusa and its inhabitants& 20 Section 3: That the objects and pdrposes for which 21 said indebtedness is proposed to be incurred are as follows: 22 The acquisition of land and the construction thereon 23 of a gymnasium and baths, for the use of the City of Azusa and 24 its inhabitants. 26 That the estimated cost of such proposed public im- 26 provement is Six Thousand ($6,000.00) Dollars. 27 That the amount of the principal of the indebtedness 28 to be incurred therefor is the sum of $6,000.009, and that the 29 rate of interest to be paid on said indebtedness is six per 30 cent, per annum. 31 That if the proposition of incurring said indebtedness for 32 said purpose, so submitted at said eleotion, receives the requisite ..2_ 1 number of votes, to-wit: the votes of two-thirds of all the 2 voters voting at such special election, bonds of said City of 3 Azusa to the amount of $6,000.00 shall be issued and sold for 4 said purpose. 6 Said bonds shall be Forty (40) in number and shall be e issued in the denomination of One Hundred Fifty ($150.00) 7 Dollars each, and the principal and interest thereon shall be 8 payable in lawfal money of the United States. 9 They shall be dated November 1st, 1919, and bear interest 10 at the rate of Six per cents per annum, payable semi-annually 11 on the let day,of M yyand the let day of November of each year• 12 And said For (40 shall be payable in the manner following: 13 One of said bonds of the denomination of $150.00 shall 14 be paid on the lot day of Novenberp 1920, and one of said bonds 15 of the denomination of $150.002 on the same day and date of 16 each and every year thereafter, at the City Treasury of said 17 City of Azusa, together with the interest on all suns unpaid at 18 such date. 19 Section 4: That for the purpose of paying the principal 20 and interest on such bonds the Board of Trustees of said City 21 shall at the time of fixing the general tax levy, and in the 22 manner for such general tax levy provided, levy and collect annually 23 each year, until said bonds are paid, or until there shall be a 24 sum in the treasury of said City set apart for that purpose But- 25 ficient to meet all sums coming due for principal and interest 26 on such bonds, a tag sufficient to pay the annual interest on 27 such bonds, and also such part of the principal thereof as shall 28 become due before the time for fixing the next general tag levy 29 Said tax shall be in addition to all other taxes levied 30 for municipal purposesp and Gall be collected at the same time 31 and in the same manner as other municipal taxes gre oollected, and 32 be used for no other purpose than the payment of said bonds and aooruing interest. �3- 1 2 3 4 6 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 16 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 IN 7 " % Section 5: The polls for said election must be opened at 6 o'clock a.m. of the day of election, and must be kept open until 7 o'clock p.mo of the some day, when the polls shall be closed; except and provided, however, that if at the hour of closing there are any other voters in the polling place or in line at the door, who are qualified to vote and have not been able to do so since appearing$ the polls shall be kept open a sufficient time to enable them to vote. But no one who shall arrive at the polling place after 7 o'clock in the afternoon, shall be entitled to vote, although the polls may be open when he arrives. The ballots to be used at such election shall be printed substantially in the following form: This number is to be . MARK CROSS (n) ON BALLOT torn off by Inspector ONLY WITH ROBBER STMT; NEVER 171TH PEN OR PENCIL (Fold ballot to this perforated line, leaving top margin exposed). s------------------------'---------------------7----------------- INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS: To vote on any proposition of incurring a bonded debt for the purpose specified in such proposition, stamp a cross (a) in the voting square after the word "Yes"tt or after the word "No". All marks except the cross are forbidden. All distinguishing marks or erasures are for- bidden or- bidden and make the ballot void. If you wrongly stamp, tear or deface this ballot, return it to the Inspector of Election and obtain another. Shall the City of Azusa incur a bonded debt of $6,000.00 for the acquisition of land and YES the construction thereon of a gymnasium and baths, for the use of the City of Azusa and its inhabitants? NO ..r The voter at such election shall mark his ballot by stamping in the appropriate voting square a arose (K) opposite the answer he desires to give as to such proposition.
