Present at roll call: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, P+:uehe, Meier, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. The minutes of the last regular meet- ing of July 15th and of the adjourned sessions of July 22nd and 29th, 1929 ' were read and approved as read. A communication from Harold Chenoweth was read. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that same be referred to the Board of Public 'Norks with power to act. A communication from Thomas A. Smith was read. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Johnson that the City Clerk Fire Insurance Policy be authorized to place the renewal of authorized. fire insurance policy covering electric motors etc. with Thomas A Smith. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. A communication from the California League of Municipalities was read. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that the City Clerk be City Clerk ir_stucted to instructed to advertise in the Azusa advertise for bids on Herald for bids on Fleet Insurance to Fleet Insurance. cover City owned or operated motor vehicles and contingent liability on motor vehicles owned by City Employees and used in City employment, as per specifications on file in City Clerk's office. Councilman Muehe introduced Resolution No; 1156, entitled, "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Azusasdopting Specifications No. 1 (New Series) for the construction of ',`{illite Processed Asphaltic RESOLUTIOi NO. 1156 Pavement,macadam pavement, cement concrete Adopted. curb, cement concrete sidewalk, cement con- crete gutter, culverts, storm drains and appurtenances, centrifugally cast iron water ' pipe, standard steel screw pipe, gate valves, fire hydrants and appurtenances, c event concrete pipe sanitary sewers and appurtenances, and ornamental street lighting system, within said City'. It was seconded by Councilman Johnson and adopted by the following vote, Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. Council of the City of Azusa adopting certain plans for th.e improvement of Foothill Boulevard and certain portions of other streets and avenues within said City". It was seconded by Council- man Tluehe and adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Pfuehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: De:mnitt. It was moved by Councilman Johnson, and seconded by Councilman Mace, that the Wiliite Procedsed Asphaltic P.1ixtures Patent License ' Agreement submitted by the California Willite Company and dated August 5th, 1929, be accept- ed. The Ie"otion carried by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Ivluehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. It was moved by Councilman IIuehe, seconded by Councilman Mace, that the ;'ar•belite Type No. 2560-M centrifugally cast cement concrete lighting standard Patent License Agreement submitted by the P1arbelite Corporation of America and dated August 5th, 1929, be accept- ed. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. Councilman Mace introduced Resolution No. 1158, entitled, "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Azusa declaring its intention to order the improvement of Foot- hill Boulevard and certain portions of other streets and avenues in said City under the Improvement Act of 1911 and the amendments to said Act". It as seconded by Councilman Johnson and adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Aluehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. P;ioved by Councilman I,4uehe, seconded by Councilman I+Iace that the bond of Street Superintendent, Arthur 'Wolfe be accepted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Council- man Johnson that deed between Louise S. Macneil, Kate S. Vosburg, Sayre Iitacneil, Marion Macneil Smith, Roydon Vosburg, Keith Vosburg and Murray S. Vosburg and the City of Azusa, be accepted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Ivieier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. Moved by Councilmen Mace, seconded by Council- man Johnson_ and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ORDERI',tiG A CERTAIN GRANT DEED RE- CORDED.
