The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do ordain 9 an follows: 10 Section 1. Section 6. Every person, firm or corporation having a license under the pro- visions of this Ordinance and carrying on a business, trade, calling,profession or occupation, at a particular place of busi- ness, shall keepsuch license posted and exhibited while in force in some conspicu- ous part of said place of business,. Every peddler of goods, wares or merchandise shell carry his license with him at all times while engaged in peddling, Every person driving or having control of any vehicle which is required by this Ordinance to be license& shell procure from the City Clerk a ticket or plate bearing a number, which shall st 611 times be attached to and carried on said vehicle, in such manner that said number shall be plainly legible, whether said vehible shall be in motion or not. All persons, firma' or corporations having a license shall produce or exhibit the same when applying for a renewal and whenever requested to do so by the City Marshall or any police officer of said City. 3eotion 7. The City Marshall and all police officers of said City shell have and exercise the power, first, to make arrests for the violation of any of the provisions of this Ordinance; second, to enter,free of charge, any place of business for which a license is required and provided, and to demand the exhibition of such license for the current term for any person engaged or employed in the troneaotion of such business, end if any person shell then and there fail to exhibit such license, such person shall be liable to the pen- alty providel in Section 1 of this Ordinance. It is hereby made the duty of the City Marshall to cause complaints to be filed against all persons violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance. -3- r ti � S 1 Section 11. For every person engaged in conducting or managing any place of 2 amusement, moving picture show, entertain- ment orhibit n her than a circus or ae 3 tent show;°p t at whenever the re- oeipts for any exhibition, concerti lecture 4 or entertainment are to be or will be appro- priated t0 any church or school, or to any 5 religious, benevolent, patriotic or civic purpose within the City of Agusa, there 6 shall be no license charged to the person or persons about to conduct the some, pro - 7 vided an affidavit be filed with the City Clerk, where an admission fee is to be 8 charged., showing that the proceeds are to be used for such religious, benevolent, 9 patriotic or civic purpose herein specified, andprovided further that where on 9dnis- 10 Bion tee is to be charged and the proceeds are to be used for s religious, benevolent, 11 patriotic or civic purpose not in the City Of Azusa, the Board of 'i~rustees may, in its 12 diadretion upon application therefor direct t. - the the City Clerk to issue a license without the Z 13 payment of any license foe therefor. 0 =mJ 14 Section 13. For every person conduct- _ W Q a ing or carrying on the business of soliciting i�0 17 orders for paintings, pictures, portraits, photographs, or orders for advertising, or 18 for books, magazinesi or for selling or dist tributing coupons or certificates purporting 19 to be:of commercial value, or orders for the sale of any kind of goods, wares or merchandise when not in conjunction Yrith 20 carrying on any store or fixed place of busi- 21 noes in the City of Azusa, $10,00 per day, provided that no license shall be required 22 fron any person whose business is limited to the sale of goods ,wares or merchandise at 23 wholesale or to the eolioiting of orders for the same at wholesale. 24 Section 15. For every person conduct - 25 ing, managing or carrying on a circus or a tent show or performance of any kind under 26 canvas, or a trained animal show -or -exhibi- tion not in a building or permanent struc- 27 Lure where two or more. persona'are employ- ed $60.00 per day. 28 Section 16. For conducting any street stand for the selling of any goods, wares or merchandise on any portion of the public Streets within the City of Azusa, $5.U0 per month, provided that no license shall be issued for asp evch stand until a permit has .first been obtained from the Board of. -i'rustees, and that the application for such permit must be sceom- panied by the written consent of the owner or occupant of the premises abutting immediately upon that portion of the street which the applicant desires to use; and further pro- vided that the said Board of Trustees shall have the right to front or refuse such permit under this Section, in its.discretion. Section 188 For every person, firm or corporation managing or carrying on a bowling alley, boxball alley or a almilier business, p6.00 per quarter for each alley, provided that such bowling alley or bola -e11 alley shall be kept closed from 12 oiploal P.M,' until 6 o'clock A. Section 19. For every person engaged in carrying on the business of a ring thrower or knife throwing rack, or bell throwing exhi-. bition, X5.00 per day. Section 22. For every person who carries on, preetices or prefesees to preetiee the business or art of astrology, palmistry, Ae- nology, oerdreading, fortune telling, cartomaey, clairfoyence, oleireadience, crystal gazing, hynotism, mediumehip, prophecy, suguryi divina- tion, magic or necromancy, and who demands or receives a fee for the practice, exercise or exhibition of his cart therein, or who gives an exhibition thereof at an .place where an ad- mission fee is charged ;4100 pqr day, Section 24, For every person: conduct- ing or.oarrying on the business of peddling fruit, -vegetables or Shy kind of goods, wares or merchandise not otherwise specified herein, or peddling, selling and delivering gasoline, kerosene, refined oil or'petroleum products of any kind, from a wagon or vehicle on o regular route and at fixed ir_tervole, when not in conjunction with a fixed place of Wei - less in the City of Azusa, for each wagon, 25.00 per annum, and when not on a regular route .and at fixed intervalb, 05.00 per day, provided that each of such wagons or vehicles Shall be designated. by o number tobe furnish - ad by the City Clerk and placed thereon in -5- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 it l the manner above specified; provided further that a person holding a license under this section shall not be permitted to remain in or permanently occupy anyone, place upon the public streets, but shall only have the right under such license to travel along the street in the usual and customary manner in order to carry on such business, Section 25. For every person doing business as a transient merchant therein# which shall include all merchants doing business at fired place of bunlnes,z for a period of lens than 60 consecutive days, $5.00 per day. Section 26. For every person eonduot; ing, managing or carrying on the business of junk dealer or the business of junk collect- or for himself or my other person, UM OO per year or $5.00 per day. 20 Section 2.
