The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do ordain as follows; Section 1. Whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, California, at an adjourned meeting thereof held Londay, January 28th, 1924, by a vote of two-thirds of all its members, duly passed and adopted a resolution determining that the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition, construction, and completion by said City of Azusa of the following municipal im- provements, to -wit: The acquisition, construction, and completion of street work upon public streets of the City of Azusa, specifically, portions of First Street, Fourth Street, Fifth Street, Centre Street, Azusa Avenue, Cerritos Avenue and Angeleno Avenue, as well as all of Second Street, Third Street, Eighth Street, Ninth Street, Eleventh Street and Crescent Drive; and, _, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 zo.i J Q omo 15 00Ww °cuz" 16 a au: 3Z2W0 17 IWJ 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29- 30 31 32 4 Whereas said resolution was approved by the executive of said City, to -wit; The President of said Board of Trustees on said 28th day of January, 1924, at said, meeting of said Board of Trustees and was published on the let day of February, 1924, in the Po.motropic, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, pub- lished and circulated in said City of Azusa; and Whereas the estimated cost of said municipal improvements if Fifty Thousand (y50,000.00) Dollars, and such estimated cost I is, and will be too great to oe paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of said City; Section 2. Now therefore a special election is hereby called to be held in the said City of Azusa, California, on the 25th day of February, 1924, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said City the following proposition set forth in said resolution; The proposition of incurring a bonded debt of the sum o:� Fifty Thousand (`50,000.00) Dollars for the acquisition, construe - tion and completion of street work upon the public streets of the. City of Azusa, specifically; portions of First Street, Fourth Street, Fifth Street, Centre Street, Azusa Avenue, Cerritos Avenue) and Angeleno Avenue, as well as all of Second Street, Third Street Eighth Street, Plinth Street, Eleventh Street and Crescent Drive, Section 3. That the objects and. powers for which said indebtedness is proposed to be incurred are as follows; The acquisition, construction and completion of street Portions of work upon public streets of the City of Azusa, specifically-/ First Street, Fourth Street, Fifth Street, Centre Street, Azusa Avenue, Cerritos Avenue and Angeleno Avenue, as well as all of Second Street, Third Street, Eighth Street, Plinth Street, Eleventh Street and Crescent Drive. That the estimated cost of such proposed pub- lic improvements is Fifty Thousand (?`50,000.00) Dollars. Said bonds shall be eighty (80) in number and shall be issued in the denomination of Six Hundred Twenty-five (1:`625.00) Dollars each, and the principal and interest thereon shall be payable in lawful money of the United States. They shall be Hated 2.:111rch 1, 1924, and bear interest at the rate of five and one-half per cent per annum, payable semi-annually on the 1st day of Liarch and the 1st day of September, of each year and said eighty (80) bonds shall be payable in the manner- following. Two of said bonds of the denomination of Six Hundred Twenty-five ('625.00) Dollars shall be paid on the 1st day of September, 1924, and two of said bonds of the denomination of Six Hundred Twenty-five (x625.00) Dollars, on the same day and late of each and every year thereafter at the City Treasury of Said City of Azusa, together with interest on all sums unpaid t such date. 22 Section 4. Section 5. The polls for said election must be opened at 6 o'clock b.I.:. of the day of election, and must be kept open until 7 o'clock P. E. of the same day when the polls shall be closed; except and provided, however; that if at the hour of closing there are any other voters in the polling place or in line at the door, who are qualified to vote and have not been able to do so since a)fearing, the polls shall be kept 6pen a sufficient time to enaole them to vote. But no one who shall arrive at the polling place after 7 o'clock in the afternoon, shall be entitled to vote, although the polls may be open when he arrives. Petty�ohn. 27 And the above named persons are hereby appointed to such 28 offices respectively, and their compensation shall be 1°7.00 each 29 for all services. 30 Section 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the _)assage and adoption of this Ordinance by 4 vote of two-thirds of all the members of the Board of Trustees of said City, and its approval by the President of said Board, and shall cause said Ordinance to be published once a week for two weeks in the Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published less than six days a week in said City of Azusa, and thereupon and there after it shall take effect and be in fu.K force.
