AICD SUBMITTING TO TI-' QUALIFITD VOTERS OF ID CITY 7HE PROPOSITION OF INCURRING A BONDED DEBT IN THE S [ OF TEN THOUSAND ($10,000.00) DOLLARS, FOR THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION BY SAID CITY OF AZUSA OF THE FOLLOWING T&UNICIPAL ItIPROVEMENTS, TO -WIT: THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COI?.PLETIChd OF LIGHT AND POWER }7ORI:S AND PLANTS IN THE CITY OF AZUSA; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUE OF BONDS THEREFOR AND FCR THE, LEVY OF A. TAX FM THE PAY:.TENT OF SAID BONDS: DESIGNATING THE ELECTION PRECINCT AND POLLING PLACE, AND A?POINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS FOR SAID ELECTION. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do ordain as follows: SECTION I. Whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa. California, at a regular meeting thereof held I'larch 16th, 1925, by a vote of two-thirds of all its members, duly passed and adopted a Resolution determining that the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition, construction and completion by said City of Azusa of the following Municipal improvements, to -wit: The acquisition, construction and completion of light and power works and plants in the City of Azusa; and, Whereas said resolution was approved by the executive of said City, to -wit; The President of said Board of Trustees and was published on the 0�rJ day of Harch, 1925, in the Pomo- tropic, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in said City.of Azusa; and, Whereas the estimated cost of said T.Tunicipal improvements is Ten Thousand (dY10.000.00) Dollars, and such estimated cost is and will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of said City; SECTION II. Now, therefore, a special election is hereby called to be he4d in the said City of Azusa. California, on the _Z±± day 0 f1925, for the purpose of submitting to the quali d voters of said City the following proposition set forth in said resolution. The proposition of incurring Ten Thousand (t10,000.00) Dollars struction and completion of light in the City of Azusa. a bonded debt of the sum of for the acquisition. con - and power works and plants SECTION III. That the objects and powers for which said indebtedness is proposed to be incurred are as follows: The acquisition, construction and completion of 11i5lit and power works and plants in the City of Azusa. That the estimated cost of such proposed public improvements is Ten Thousand Dollars. -1- Q That if the proposition of incurring said indebtedness for said purposes so submitted at said election received the requisite number of votes, to -wit; The votes of two-thirds of all. the voters voting at such special election, bonds of said City of Azusa, in the sum of Ten Thousand (0,10,000.00) Dollars shall be issued and sold for said purpose. Said bonds shall be twenty (20) in number and shall be issued in the denomination of Five Hundred 0500.00) Dollars each, and the principal and interest thereon shall be payable in lawful money clf the United States. They shall be dated, � 1. 1925, ald bear interest at the rate of SA er cen rer annum, payable mi -annually on the first day of and the first day of o£ each year, and said twenty (20) bonds shall be pa ble in the manner following: One (1) of said bonds of the denomination of Fiv Hundred (,,500.00) Dollars shall be paid on the first day of?7u t� 1926, and one (1) of said bonds of the denomination o Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars on the same day and date of each and every year thereafter at the City Treasury of s=id City of Azusa, to- gether with interest on all sums unpaid at such date. SECTION IV. That for the purpose of paying the principal and interest on such bonds the Board of Trustees of said City shall at the time of fixing the general tax levy, and in the manner for such general tax levy provided, levy and collect annually each year. until said bonds are paid, or until there shall be a sum in the treasury of said City set apart for the purpose, sufficient to meet all sums coming due for principal and interest on such bonds, a tax sufficient to pay the annual interest on such bonds, and also such part of the principal thereof as shall become due be- fore the time for fixing the neat general tax levy. Said tax shall be in addition to all other taxes levied for T."_unicipal purposes, and shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner as other municipal taxes are collected, and be used for no other purpose than the payment of said bonds and accruing inttrest. SECTION V. The Polls for said election must be opened at 6 o'clock A.Iw. of the day of election, and must be kept open un- til seven o'clock P.M. of the same day when the polls shall be closed; except and provided, however, that if at the hour of closing there are any other voters in the polling place or in line at the door, who are qualified to vote and have not been able to do so since appearing, the polls shall be kept open a sufficient time to enable them to vote. But no one who shall arrive at the polling place after 7 o'clock in the afternoon, shall be entitled to vote, although the polls may be open when he arrives. The ballots to be used at such election shall be printed substantially in the following form. To vote on any proposition of incurring a bonded debt for the purpose specified in such proposition, stm p a cross (%) in the voting square after the word "Yes", or after the word "No". All marks except the cross (X) are forbidden. All distinguish- ing marks or erasures are forbidden and make the ballot void. If ,you wrongly stamp. tear or deface this ballot. return it to the Inspector of Election and obtain another. Shall the City of Azusa incur a borded debt of YES $10,000.00 for the acquisition, construction and completion of light and power works and plants NO in the City of Azusa? The voter at such election shall mark his ballot by stamp- ing in the appropriate voting square a cross (X) opposite the answer he desires to give as to such proposition. Such cross shall be made only with a stamp. SECTION VI. That for the holding of such electi.6n, said City of Azusa shall be, and is hereby consolidated into one Municipal election precinct, the boundaries of which said pre- cinct shall be and are hereby fixed as the exterior boundaries of the City of Azusa, and the polling place shall be and is hereby located at the City Hall at the northeasterly corner of Centre Street and Alameda Avenue in the City of Azusa, andthe Board of Election for such special election is hereby appointed as follows: /I i1 Inspecto Judges: Clerks: 9. z And the above named pe46ons offices respectively, and their for all services. That in all particulars not recited in this Ordinance, such election shall be held as provided by law for holding municipal election in said City. SECTION VIII. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance by a vote of two-thirds of allihe members of the Board of Trustees of said City, and its approval by the President of said Board and shall cause said Ordinance to be published once a week for two weeks in the Pomptropic, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published less than six days a week in said City of Azusa, and thereupon and there- after it shall take effect and be in full force.
