TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 1929. 7:30 1.115 The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Johnson, Muehe, Meier, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilmen: Demmitt and Mace. The minutes of the last regular meeting of August 19th and of the adjourned meeting of August 21, 1929 were read and approved as read. IN THE MATTER OF THE PROPOSED IMPROVE1,1ENTS CONTEMPLATED BY RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1141 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THF CITY OF AZUSA PASSED ON JUNE 3RD, 1929. The Clerk called the attention of the City Council to the fact that the Notice of Hearing Protests in the matter of the pooposed improvements contemplated by Resolution No. 1141 of the City Council of the City of Azusa had been regularly published and that the Notices of Parkway Improvement had been regularly posted and published, all as required by law, and that this hour, 7:30 o'clock P:M. in the Council. chamber of the City Council in the City Hall of the City of Azusa was the time and place set for hearing objections. The Mayor then inquired if any written objections had been filed with the Clerk. She reported that written protests or objections had been filed by the following named persons: W. Q1,;. Budworth, et.al., J. H. Morgan, et.al., Sue M. Geldermann et.al.. Howard C. Chenoweth et. al., Herman Lawin, et.al., Geo. II. Middleton et. Al., Chas. Bell_, et.al., 0. M. Martin, et.al., Dora Z. O'Neal, et. al., Lee R. Bustillo, et., al., Helen Taylor, et. al., G. M. Sill, et.,al., and John E. Hill. and proceeded to read the said protests. On motion of Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Johnson, and carried, that the protests be referred to the City Engineer for a report. On motion of Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Muehe and carried the hearing was adjourned and continued to September 6, 1929 at 7:30 o'clock, P.M. A communication from Wn . J. Holden, City Treasurer, was read. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Johnson that the City Clerk be instructed to draw a warrant in favor of Mr. Holden for •";n74.82 in payment of de- linquent street assessment on property owned by the City of Azusa. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Demmitt, Mace. Moved by Councilman Muehe and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, LEVYING TAXES AND FIX- ING THE TAX RATE ON ALL PROP=Y IN SAID CITY FOR ALL MUNICIPAL PURPOSES AND TO PAY TIE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS THEREOF AND INTEREST OF THE SAME FOR TIIE FISCAL YEAR 1929-1930. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Johnson that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1171. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Muehe, Meier, Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Demmitt and Mace. The Clerk announced that she had received one bid in answer to notice of sale of City Clerk instructed to dr.aea warrant in favor of City Treasurer for X74.82. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Muehe that th- hiq be now opened, examined and publicly declared. r. ► AZUSG FOOT -HILL CITRUS COMPI:NY 7:30 P.Y.1117 We will pay you cash Twenty-five hundred (-$2,500.00) dollars for the following described land: "Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 761, of Subdivision No. 2 Azusa Land and 'sl!ater Company, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per man recorded in Book 43, Page 94, IvTiscellan- eous Recores of said County; thence north 401 feet; thence east 132 feet; thence south 360 51' east 280.08 feet; thence south 176.88 feet to the south .vest corner of Lot 78 of said Subdivision; thence west 299.97 feet to the point of beginning, containing 2.33 acres more or less, excepting the south ten (10) feet thereof." etc. Moved by Councilman Muehe and un- animously carried that the bid of the the Azusa -Foot -Hill Citrus Company be referred to the Audit and Finance Committee to report back at the next regular meeting. Moved by Councilman Muehe tnd unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ADOPTING SPECIFICATIONS NO. 2 (NEW SERIES) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF MACADAM PAVE- MENT, CENTRIFUGALLY CAST IRON WATER PIPE, STANDARD STEEL SCRF4 PIPE, GATE VALVES, FIRE HYDRANTS AND APPURTENANCES !^;ITHIN S1IDCITY. be read. This resolution was then read. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Muehe that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1172. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, h4uehe, Mieer. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Demmitt and Mace. Moved by Councilman Johnson and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF TIIE CITY COUNCIL OF f1HE CITY OF AZUSA ADOPTING CERTAIN PLANS FOR THE IM- PROVEMENT OF CONEY AVENUE AND CEiITAIN PORTIONS OF OTHER STREETS AND AVENUES IN SLID CITY. be read.
