AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA REGULATING THE BURNING OF GRASS, WEEDS,
RUBBISH, REFUSE AND OTHER I3ATERIAL.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa
do ordain as follows:
Section 1. No rubbish, refuse or other material
shall be burned in any of the subdivided portions of the
City of Azusa, except in an incinerator or protected con-
tainer so constructed that burning particles may not es-
cape.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful .for any per-
son, firm or corporation to burn or cause or permit to
be burned any standing grass or weeds, rubbish, refuse
or any other material within any of the sbudivided por-
tions of the City of Azusa between the hours of 9:00
o'clock A. M. and 5:00 o'clock P. M. of any day; provid-
ed, however, that nothing contained in this ordinance
shall be construed as prohibiting the Captain of the Fire
Department of the City of Azusa from in any manner remov-
ing weeds, rubbish or any other material as provided in _
Ordinance No. 257.
Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation who
shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance or
who shall fail to comply with the requirements thereof
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon convic-
tion thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than
Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Three Hundred Dollars
($300.00) or by imprisonment in jail for a term of not
less than five (5) days and not exceeding ninety (90) days,
or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published in one regular issue in the "Pomotropic", a
weekly newspaper of general circulation established, print-
ed and published in the City of Azusa.
