AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA R2GULATING TRAFFIC UPON
THy PUBLIC STREETS AND RP;PEALING ALL ORDINANCES
INCONSISTANT HEREWITH.
The City Council of the City of Azusa do ordain as follows
Section 1. Whenever in this ordinance the following terms
are used, they shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them
in this section.
STREET: Every way set apart for public travel except alle
ways.
VEHICLE: Every device or animal by which any person or
property is or may be transported or drawn upon the street except de-
vices moved by human power or used exclusively on rails.
OPERATOR: Any person who is in actual physical control of
a vehicle or street car.
PARK; To stand a vehicle for a period of time greater
than reasonably necessary for the actual loading or unloading of per-
sons or materials.
Section 2. PARKING TIME LILITED IN SPECIFIED PLACE:
The operator of a vehicle shall not park such vehicle for a longer
time than two (2) lours on Foothill Boulevard between Angeleno and
Alameda Avenues in the City of Azusa between the hours of seven (7)
o'clock A.1% and ten (10) o'clock P.M. ahnr on Azusa Avenue in the
City of Azusa between sixth (6th) and eighth (8th) streets between
the hours of seven (7) o'clock A.M. and seven (7) o'clock P.M.(o-f—
gdeys) Signs shall be erected and
maintained not more than one hundred and fifty (150) feet apart in
each block designating the provisions of this section, otherwise this
section shall not be effective.
Section 3: STANDING OR PARKING CLOSE `1'O 'THe CURB.

The operator of a vehicle shall not stop, stand or park such vehicle
in a roadway other than parallel with the curb and with the two right
hand wheels of the vehicle within one (1) foot of the regularly es-
tablished curb line, except that upon those streets which shall have
been marked for angle parking, as provided in this section, vehicle
shall be parked at the angle to the curb and between the lines indi-
cated by such marks.
Section 4: The City Council of the City of Azusa by re-
solution is hereby authorized to determine upon what streets angle
parking shall be permitted and to indicate such places by the paint-
ing of lines upon the surface of the roadway to indicate the proper
angle for parking, provided that such lines shall not be placed upon,
nor shall angle parking be permitted upon, any street where such park
ing would diminish the width of the roadway available for travel to
less than twenty (20) feet. Dor upon any street which is a continua-
tion of or part of a county trunk line highway or a state highway un-
less a clear width of thirty (30) feet is left for the movemont of
vehicles when angle parking is permitted.
Section 5: PEDALTY. tiny person violating any of the pro-
visions of the ordinance, or any rule or regulation made by the City
Council by resolutions pursuant to this ordinance shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished for the
first offense by a fine not to exceed twenty-five (25) dollars or by
imprisonment in the city jail for not more than ten (10) days; for a
second and each additional violation within a period of one (1) year,
by a fine not to exceed fifty (50.00) Dollars or by imprisonment in
the city jail for not more than twenty (20) days or by both fine and
imprisonment.
SLCTI05 6: REPEAL. All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict with or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinanc
are hereby repealed.

Section 7: That the City Clerk shall certify to the pass-
age of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in one
regular issue of the Azusa Journal, a weekly newspaper in the City of
Azusa.
I hereby certify that the foregoing ordinance was duly
passed by the City Council of the City of Azusa, at a regular meeting
held the l day of A. D. 1928.
