SEPTEMBER 6, 1929. 7:30 P.M. 1217 The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular adjourned session at the above ti -:e and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Iy4uehe, Meier, City At- torney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. The hour of 7:30 o'clock P.ri,. September 6, 1"29, having arrived, the Mayor announced that the City Council mould now continue with the hear- ' ing in the matter of the proposed improvements contemplated by Resolution of Intention No. 1141 of the City Council of the City of Azusa, passed on June 3, 1929. The City Engineer reported that the total frontage of the property owned by the protestants was 22.2% of the total frontage of the property fronting on streets, or parts of streets, within said assessment district and that the protest was not made by the owners of a majority of the frontage of the property fronting on said streets or parts of streets within said assessment district. On motion oC Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Johnson and carried, it wa.^_ moved that in view of the fact that the protests a against said improvement were not signed by the owners of a majority ' of the frontage -of the property fronting on streets, or parts of streets, within said assessment district, that the City Council. now proceed with the further hearings in said matter. The Mayor then asked if anyone desired to be heard on the said protests against the improvement or the proposed assessment, and the City Council was addressed by Mr. Chas. Iuiorgan, Mr. Eagle, Mr. Ilaifle, Mr. Strang, Mrs. Beck, Mr. White and Mr. Everett Morgan in support of the said protests. The Mayor then inquired if anyone else desired to be heard with reference to the said protests and no one responded. Thereupon, after full opportunity had been ;<.iven to every to Acacia Baileyana. On motion of Councilman ivluehe, seconded by Councilman Iriace and carried, it was moved that the proposed assessment on file in the office of the City Clerk and Ex -officio Clerk of said City Council be corrected as follows: person desiring to be heard in the matter of the said protests, on motion of Councilman Muehe, seconded by Councilman Mace and carried, it was moved that the hearing be closed. On motion of Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Johnson and carried, that the kiAd of trees to be planted on Soldano :%venue between Second Street and Tenth Street be changed from Schimes Molle to Acacia Baileyana. On motion of Councilman ivluehe, seconded by Councilman Iriace and carried, it was moved that the proposed assessment on file in the office of the City Clerk and Ex -officio Clerk of said City Council be corrected as follows: 11 MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING IIELD SEPTEMBER 6, 1929. 7:3@ 31%. The total amount of the cost and expenses of the proposed improvement, including all incidental expenses be changed from the sum of $14,984.47 to the sum of . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $14,631.53 The total cost and expenses for the maintenance of the improvements for the first year be changed from the sum of $2,795.96 to the sum of . . . . . . $ 2,730.12 The total cost and expenses for the maintenance of the improvements for the second year be changed from the sum of $1,777.05 to the sum of . The total cost and expenses for the maintenance of the improvements for the third year be changed from the sum of n19777.05 to the sum of . AND AVENUES WITHIN St%.ID CITY, AS CONTEMPLATED BY RESOLUTION OF IINITE14TION NO. 1141 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF SAID CITY ON JUNE 3RD, 1929. Councilman Muehe moved the adoption of said resolution and was seconded by councilman place, and upon roll call the said Resolution was adonted by the following vote: Ayes; Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman: Demmitt. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Muehe that the Council. adjourn.
