AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REGULATING
TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HERE1,711ITH.
The City Council of the City of Azusa do ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Whenever in this ordinance the fol-
lowing terms are used, they shall have the meanings res-
pectively ascribed to them in this section.
STREET: Every way set apart for public
travel, including all.eyways.
ALLEY: A public highway which does not
exceed twenty feet between property lines
VEHICLE: Every device or animal by which
any person or property is or may be trans-
ported or drawn upon the street, except
devices moved by human power, or used ex-
clusively on rails.
OPERATOR: Any person who is in actual
physical control. of a vehicle or street car.
PARK: To stand a vehicle for a period of
time greater than reasonably necessary for
the actual loading or unloading of persons
or materials.
SECTION 2.. PARKING TIME LIN.ITED IN SPECIFIED
PLACE.
The operator of a vehicle shall not park such
vehicle for longer time than two hours on Foothill
Boulevard between San Gabriel and Alameda Avenues in the
City of Azusa between the hours of seven (7) o'clock A.M.
and six (6) o'clock P.P.R. nor on Azusa Avenue in the City
of Azusa between Sixth Street and Eighth Street between
the hours of seven (7) o'clock A.Pv1. and six o'clock P.M.
nor on any alley in the City of Azusa between Eighth
Street on the North and Sixth Street on the South, and
San Gabriel Avenue on the "'est and Alameda Avenue on the
East. Signs shall be erected and maintained not more
than one hundred and fifty (150) feet apart in each block
designating the provisions of this section, otherwise
this section shal-I not be effective.
SECTION 3. STANDTNG OR PARKING CLOSE TO THE
CURB.
The operator of a vehicle shall not stop, stand
or park such vehicle in a roadway other than parallel with
the curb and with the two right hand wheels of the vehicle
within one (1) foot of the regularly established curb line,
except that up -n those streets which shall have been marked
for angle parking, as provided in this section, vehicle shall
be parked at the angle to the curbs and between the lines
indicated by such marks.

SECTION 4.
The City Council of the City of Azusa by resolution
is hereby authorized to determi.n up^n what streets angle
parking shall be permitted and to indicate such places
by the painting of lines upon the surface of the roadway
to indicate the proner angle for parking, provided that
such lines shall not be placed upon, nor shall angle park-
ing be permitted upon, any street where such parking would
diminish the width of the roadwav available for travel
to less than twenty (20) feet. Nor up^n any street which
is a continuation of or part of a county trunk line high-
way or a stage highway unless a clear r,•idth of thirty (30)
feet is left for the movement of vehicles when angle park-
ing is permitted.
SECTION 5. PENALTY.
Any person violating any of the provisions of the
ordinance, or any rule or regulation made by the City
Council by resolutions pursuant to this ordinance shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and unon conviction thereof
shall be punished for the first offense by a fine not to
exceed twenty-five (25) dollars or by imprisonment in the
Citn jail for not more than ten (10) days; for a second
and each additional violation .Vithin a period of one (1)
year, by a fine not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) or
by imprisonment in the City jail for not more than twenty
(20) days or by both fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 6. REPEAL.
All ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
with or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance,
and particularly ordinance no. 277, are hereby repealed.
SECTION 7.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in one
regular issue of the Azusa Herald, a weekly newspaper in
the_City of Azusa.
I hereby certify that the foregoing ordinance was
duly passed by the City Council of the City of Azusa, at
a regular meeting held on the 1.7th day of November, 1930,
by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Williams, Muehe,
Meier.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
