AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REGULATING THE DISTRIBUTION OF ADVERTIS- ING SAMPLES, HAT"TD-BILT,S, DODGERS, CIRCULARS, BOOKLETS, AND OTHER NOTICE OF ADVERTISEMENT UPON THE STREETS OR PROPERTY OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OR AZUSA AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERF7ITH, AND, -PROVIDING PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF. The City Council of the City of Azusa, does ordain as follows: - SECTION I. That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to distribute or cause to be distributed upon any public street, alley, park or other public place in said City of Azusa or to place in any automobile or other vehicle parked along or upon any public street, alley, park or other public place in said City of Azusa, any advertising samples, hand -bills, dodgers, circulars, booklets, or other notice of commercial advertising. SECTION II. That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to distribute or throw upon any street, alley or public place, or upon any private yard, lawn, driveway, sidewalk, porch or steps of any residence or upon or in any part of any structure or upon any vacant property or in a letter box in said City of Azusa, any advertising sample, hand -bill, dodger, circular, booklet or other notice of commercial advertising, provided that nothing in this Section shall prohibit the distribution and delivery of any newspaper of Peneral circulation as defined by the laws of the State of California or any regularly issued magazine into dwelling houses of residents within said City who are subscribers to such newspaper or magazine. SECTION ITI. That all licerses heretofore issued or hereafter to be issued for carrying on the business of distributing samples or circulars under and by virtue of the provisions of Ordinance of the City of Azusa No. 284, shall be subject to the provisions of this Ordinance. SECTION IV. That any person violating any of the pro- visions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a .fine not exceeding A300.00, or by im- prisonment in the City Jail of the City of A7usa,or in the County Jail of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, at the discretion of the Committing Magistrate for a period of not exceeding 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION V. This Ordinance shall be published once in the Azusa Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and cir- culated in said City of Azusa, and thereupon and thereafter this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force.
