AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
4 CITY OF AZUSA MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR TWO
OR MORE PERSONS TO OBSTRUCT THE SIDEWALKS
5 OR THE STREETS; REGULATING PUBLIC MEETINGS
IN PUBLIC STREETS AND PARKS AND PROVIDING
6 A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDIN-
ANCE.

The City Council of the City of Azusa does
ordain as follovis:-
SEC. 1. It shall be unlawful within the limits of the
City of Azusa, for any person to stand or sit
in or upon any public street, alley, sidewalk
or cross -walk, so as to in any manner hinder
or obstruct the free pass4ge therein or thereon
of persona along the same way or so as to in
any manner annoy or molest persons passing
along the same.
SEC. 2. It shall be unlawful within the limits of the
City of Azusa, except as hereinafter provided,
for two or more persons to obstruct the side-
walks or streets or to hold meetings thereon
'or public celebrations therein, or to parade
in.a body through the public streets, without
first obtaining permission therefor from the
Chief of Police of said City; provided how-
ever that all permits issued by the Chief of
Police hereunder shall designate the time
and the particular locality at which any
meeting may be held, and the time when and
the streets upon which any parade may be
conducted.
SEC. 3• It shall be unlawful within the limits of the
24 City of Azusa for two or more persons to assemble
together for the purpose of doing any act of
25 violence or inviting or advising others to do
any act of violence or to permit any criminal
26 act.

SEC. 4. Any persons violating any of the provisions

of this Ordinance shall be deemdd guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof
29
shall be punished by a fine not exceeding
$300.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail
30
in the City of Azusa or the County Jail of
the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
31
not to exceed four (4) months, or by both such
fine and imprisonment.

SEC. 5.
That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause
the same to be published once in the Azusa
Herald and Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper
published in the City of Azusa.
The above and foregoing Ordinance
No. 302 was passed and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of
Azusa on the 17th day of July, 1983, by the
affirmative vote of the following members
thereof:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Calvert,
Johnson, Morden, Meier.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
