AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING VACANT FOR PUBLIC
STREET PURPOSES A CERTAIN PORTION OF
SIERRA 14ADRE AVENUE 17ITHIN SAID CITY.

'HIM.rAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa, on the 7th.
day of August,1933, at a.re ular meeting of said City Council held
on that date, duly passed and adopted a resolution, being Resolu-
tion No.1354, entitled, "Resolution of the City Council of the City
of Azusa declaring its intention to vaca.te,close-up and abandon for
public street purposes a certain portion of Sierra Madre Avenue
within said City"; and
WFEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of Azusa
after the passage of said Resolution caused to be conspicuously
posted along the line of said contemplated improvement,at not more
than three hundred feet in distance apart upon said street, and not
less than thTee in all upon said street,notices of the passage of
said Resolution, said notices being headed,"NOTICE OF PUBLIC IVORY",
in letters not less than one inch in length and stati:^ ; the fact of
the passage of said Resolution, its date and briefly the work of
improvement proposed, being tat of vacating the above named street
as hereinafter described, and the said notice herein mentioned referr-
ed to said Resolution for further particulars; said street superin-
tendent having; also caused a notice similar to that hereinbefore
referred to to be published by four successive insertions in the
AZUSA HERALD, a weekly newspaper, printed,published and circulated
in said City of Azusa(there being no daily newspaper so printed,
published and circulated in said City) and more than ten days after
the expiration of the time of publication of said notice having
elapsed and no objections to the said improvement have been delivered
to the City Clerk of the City of Azusa, and the said City Council
having acquired jurisdiction to order the sacation of said street
as hereinafter described;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does
ordain as follows;
SECTION ONE.
That that portion of the public street hereinafter described
within said City be vacated, closed up and abandoned for public
street purposes and is described as follows;
All that portion of Sierra Madre Avenue within said City
described as beginning at a point in the southerly line of said
Sierra Madre Avenue, which point is S. 890 101 5011 W., 3396.77
feet( measured along the southerly line of said Sierra Madre Ave-
nue) from the east line of Section 26, T.1 N., R.10 W.,San Bernardi-
no Base and f,ieridian; thence 6.890 10, 5011 W. along the southerly
line of Sierra Madre Avenue, a distance of 578.66 feet to a point;
thence northeasterly around a circular curve, concave to the north-
west and having a radius of 230 feet, a distance of 92.46 feet to
a point; thence N.540 101 5011 E., a.distance of 28.52 feet to a pmint
in the northerly line of said Sierra Madre Avenue; tnence N.890101
501' E.,along the northerly line of said Sierra Madre Avenue, a dis-
tance of 282.53 feet to a point; thence 5.740 341 4011 E., a distance
of 135.29 feet to a point, the beginning of a curve; tnence south-
easterly around a circular curve, concave to the northeast and having
a radius of 430 feet, a distance of 59.77 feet to a point, the
place of beginning.
SECT IOT4 TWO.
That the public work herein provided for is the closing up
of the street described in Section One hereof, and it appearing to
the City Council that there are no costs, damages or expenses occasion-
ed by or arising out of said work and that no assessment is necessary
to pay the costs, damages or expenses of said work, and that therefore
no commissioners shall be appointed to assess benefits and damages.

SECTION THREE.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordi-
nance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in
the Azusa Herald, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated
in said City and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
