OF ORDINANCE NO. 304 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA IMPOSING A LICENSE TAX UPON DOGS AND REGULATING THE RUNIING-AT LARGE, LICENSING AND IMPOUNDING OF DOGS AND ALSO PROVIDING FOR THE OD NTROL AND ERADICATION OF RABIES WITHIN SAID CITY OF AZUSA" AND ADDING A NEW SECTION TO SAID ORDINANCE NO. 304 OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 13. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: Section 1. That Section No. I of Ordinance No. 304 of the City of Azusa is hereby amended to read as follows to -wit: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person owning, having an interest in, harboring, or having the care, charge, control, custody or possession of any dog, to allow or permit such dog to go free or to run at large in or upon any street, public way, square or other public place in said City of Azusa unless around the neck of said dog is a collar to which is attached a tag obtained from the City Tax Collector bearing the number marked therAon by the City Tax Collector of said City of Azusa, provided however, that this requirement shall not apply to any dog which accompanies its owner, such owner not being a resident of said City of Azusa. Section 2. That a new section be added to Ordinance No. 304 to be known as Section 19. Section ls. The City Tax Collector shall keep a register wherein shall be entered the name of the owner of the dog to which the tag has been issued and the number and date thereof. The City Tax Collector Is hereby directed to procure the necessary tags mentioned in the preceding section and to annually collect or receive from the owner of every dog owned or harbored within the limits of the said City the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) for each male dog and Two Dollars (92.00) each for female dogs and the said tags shall have stamped upon them the year and "Jan- uary 1st" and shall be good for one year from such date and the City Tax Collector is hereby required to pro- cure prior to the first day of January of each year new tags stamped as above required. The City Tax Collector shall pay all moneys received by him for such tags into the treasury and such money shall con- stitute a special fund to be known as a Dog Tax Fund. Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of Azusa and thereupon and thereafter the same shall take affect and be inforced. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Azusa held on the 19th day of February 19349 by the following vote of the Council, to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen: Meier.
