AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA GRANTING TO LOS ANGELES COUNTY FLOOD CON- TROL DISTRICT.. A BODY POLITIC AND CORPORATE, A PERPETUAL EASEMENT FOR FLOOD CONTROL PURPOSES IN. OVER AND ACROSS CERTAIN POR - MONS IN LOT 1 OF BLOCK C OF SUDIV. #1 OF LANDS OF AZUSA LAND & WATER COMPANYo as follows: - The City Council of the City of Azusa does orda Section 1. That Los Angeles County Flood Control District# a body politic and corporates organizedp existing and operating under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Californiap be and the same is hereby granted a perpetual easement for flood control purposes in., over and across the following described real property situate in the County of Los Angolesp State of California, to -wit: - That portion of that certain strip of land in Lot 1 of Block C of "Subdivision No. 1 of lands of Azusa Land & "later Co." as shown on a map recorded in Book 16j, Pages 17 and 18.. of Miscel- laneous Records of Los Angeles Countyp as con- veyed to The City of Azusa by a deed recorded in Book 1602p page 930 of Official Records of said countyj, within a strip of land 50 feet wide, 25 feet on each side of the following described centerline: Beginning at a point in the oenterline of First Streets 80 feet wider as shown on said map dis- tant N. 890 581 35" E. thereon 1107.54 feet from the centerline of Azusa Avenue 80 feet wide.* as shown on said map; thence S. 430 391 43" Ti. 300.87 feet to the beginning of a tangent curves concave to the northwest., having a radius of 436.76 feet; thence southwesterly along said curve 216.14 feet to the beginning of a tangent curves concave to the southeast., having a radius of 485.87 foetj, a tadial line through said last mentioned beginning of curve bears S. 170 591 02" E.; thence south- westerly along said curve 350.40 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve., concave to the south- east, having a radius of 1000 feet.4 a radial line through said last mentioned point on curve bears S. 590 181 16" E.; thence southwesterly along said curve 310.58 feet to the end of same; thence S. 12 541 03"'W. tangent to said curve 285.98 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve., concave to the wast•having a radius of 1000 feet; thence southerly along said curve 278.1 4 feet to the end of same; thence S. 280 501 13" W. tangent to said curve 359.47 feet to a point in the centerline of said Azusa Avenues dis- tant S. The said Easement herein granted shall include the right to construct, reconstructs inspects maintain and repair a channel and pro- teotion works for the purpose of confining the waters of Little Dalton Wash in a single channel and the right to enter upon and to pass and re -pass over and along said land, to deposit toolss, imple- ments and other materials thereon.. to take therefrom and use earths rocks, sand and gravel for the pur- pose of excavating, widenings deepening and other- wise rectifying the channels, and for the construction.. maintenance and repgir of embankments and other protection works by said Districts its officers.. agents and employees and by persons under contraot with it and their employees whenever and wherever necessary for flood control purposes, it being understood that the City of Azusa in granting said easement grants only that portion of the above des- cribed land which is owned by said City or in which said City has an interest, and it being further understood that the said grant includes the right to do all things necessary to be done for the pur- pose of confining waters of said stream within said right of Tray. Section 3. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Azusa shall be and the same are hereby authorized and directed to executes on behalf of said Cityp a written Basement to said Los Angeles County Flood Control Districts in accordance with the terms of this Ordinances immediately upon the taking effect of this Ordinance after its passage. Section 4• All Ordinances or parts of Ordin- ances of the City of Azusa in conflict with this Ordinance, be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 5. The Mayor shall sign this Ordin- ance and the City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage, adoption and publication of the same and cause the same to be published oncep with- in fifteen days after its passage, in the Azusa Herald & Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper of general circulationp published and circulated in said Cityp and 30 days after its passage the same shall take effect and be in force.
