HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 336J `f + ORDINANCE NO. c 3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING SCHEDULE D -1-B1 AND SCHEDULE D -1-B2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 328 OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE OF TIE CITY COUNCIL OF. THE CITY OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 307 AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY IN CONFLICT HEREWITH." The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: Section 1. Schedule D -1 -Bl and Schedule D -1-B2 of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 328 of the City of Azusa, entitled, "An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Azusa establishing rates to be charged for electric service within the City of Azusa, and repealing Ordinance No. 307 and all other Ordinances or portions of Ordinances of said City in conflict herewith," is hereby amended so t as to read as follows: SCHEDULE D -1-B1 This schedule is applicable to all consumers of electric service used exclusively for GENERAL DOP.SESTIC AND HOUSEHOLD purposes, in single family dwellings, or individually metered single family flats or apartments of seven (7) rooms or less, and is available only to con- sumers permanently installing the following: (1) An electric range of not less 'than 5 M7 total rating where the range is used exclusively for all regular cooping on the, premises, and/or (2) An electric water heater conforming to "Special Condition" hereinafter mentioned and used exclusively for all regular water heating on the premises, and/or (3) Other major -equipment of not less than 5 kW total rating, where such equipment --is -- --- regularly used for household purposes. Major equipment consists of any device for domestic use that is rated by the manufacturer at one (1) or more kilowatts. In .determining the number of rooms in any.single family dwelling,:flat or apartment; bathrooms, halls and cellars`shall not be classified as rooms. The rates under this schedule shall be as follows: First 25 KaVH per m¢ter per month.......•5.3 cents per KaVH Next 125 MH per meter per month..,....3.0 cents per MMM All over 150 Mi per meter per month... 2.0 cents per KPJH Except that then an electric water heater is operated' in conjunction with an electric range, Excess over 225 MH per meter per month ... 1.5 cents per KWH The minimum charge -per meter per month shall be as follows: For the first 12 KVd or less of connected load in major egiupment: (a) With an electric range or water heater...... $3.00. per month (b) Without an electric range or water heater... $6.00 per month All over 12 MV of connected load in major equipment, $0.30 per month per KW, The minimum charge shall be based on connected load taken at 100 per cent of the nameplate rating of major equipment permanently connected and which may be connected one at any/time, computed to the nearest one-tenth (1/10) of a kilowatt. Connected load for water heaters shall be 2. taken as 100 per cent of the rating of base heating units, Booster heating units being waived. SPECIAL CONDITION TheViater heater shall be provided with an efficiently insulated storage tank and the wattage rating of the base heating element, controlled by a thermostat located near, the bottom of the tank, shall not exceed 2500 watts for tanks of less than 50 gallons capacity and shall not exceed 50 watts per gallon of tank capacity for tanks of 50 gallons and over. An,additional wattage of not to exceed 50 watts per gallon of tank capacity, but in no event more than a total of 2 TOW is allowable when used in a Bo.oster heating element individually controlled by a separate thermostat, set to cut -in only when the temperature of the top one- third (1/3) of tank capacity is 20 degrees F. below the temperature setting of the bottom thermostat. SCHEDULE D -1-B2 This schedule is applicable to all consumers of electric service used exclusively for GENERAL DOKESTIC AND HOUSEHOLD PURPOSES, in single family dwellings, or individually metered single family flats or apartments of eight (8) rooms or more, and is available only to consumers permanently installing the following: (1) An electric range of not less than 5 KN total rating where the range is used exclusively for all regular cooking on the premises, and/or (2) An electric water heater conforming to "Special Condition" hereinafter mentioned and used exclusively for all regular water heating on the premises, and/or 3. (3) Other major equipment of not less .than 5 M total rating, where such -equipment is regularly used for household purposes. Major equipment consists of any device for domestic use that is rated by the manufacturer at one (1) or more kilowatts. In determining the number of rooms in any single family dwelling, flat or apartment; bathrooms, halls and cellars shall not be classified as rooms. Section 2. The City Clerk -of the City of Azusa shall certify to the passage and approval of this ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published in the "AZUSA ITERALD,AND POIuiOTROPIC," a weekly newspaper, printed, pub - fished and circulated'in the City of Azusa and hereby designated for that purpose.
