ORDINANCE NO.3�
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AI:IEND.-
ING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NIMMER 243 OF SAID
CITY OF AZUSA, PREVENTING THE DISCHARGE OF FIRE-
ARbIS AND PROVIDING PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION
THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as
SECTION 1,. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 243 of
the City of Azusa, approved and adopted July 20, 19252 by
said City, without disturbing, limiting or amending any
of the other paragraphs or provisions of said Section or
of said Ordinance, shall be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"SECTION 2. Whenever in the case of sick or
injured animals any person or persons shall desire
to kill the same by the use of firearms, or when-
ever the discharge of firearms is contemplated to
take place in a shooting gallery, or on a shooting
range or a target range, or in target shooting or
practice, any person, firm, association, organiza-
tion or corporation so desiring to kill such sick
or injured animal or to engage in or to conduct a
shooting gallery or range or target range or shoot-
ing or target practice, shall first procure per-
mission from the Chief of Police of the City of
Azusa, so to do, in the event of which permission
by the Chief of Police and the carrying out of the
terms of said permission in a lawful manner,
Section 1 of said Ordinance No. 243 shall.be in-
applicable to make unlawful the lawful acts of the
person, firm, association, organization or corpora-
tion in carrying out the terms of such permission."
SECTION 2. The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and
the City Clerk shall attest same and certify to the passage,
adoption and publication of the same and shall cause the
same to be published once, within fifteen days after its
passage, in the Azusa Herald. and Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper
of general circulation published and circulated in the City of
Azusa, which said newspaper is hereby designated for that pur-
pose,
and thereupon and thereafter thirty days after its
passage this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force.

foregoing Ordinance was duly introduced at a regular meeting
5 of the City Council of the City of Azusa, held on November 20
1939, in the regular Council Chambers of said City Countil ins
6 said City; that said Ordinance was placed upon its first
reading at said regular meeting November 20, 1939; that
7 thereafter said Ordinance was duly and regularly passed and
adopted by said Council, signed and approved by the Mayor and
8 attested by the City Clerk of said City at a regular meeting
of said Council so held in the regular Council Champers at
9 the next regular meeting of said City Council on December 4,
1939, and that the same was passed and adopted by the
10 following vote of the Council:

16 I do further certify that I caused said Ordinance to
be published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the
17 passage thereof in the Azusa Herald and. Pomotropic on
December 7, 1939, a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
18 published and circulated in said City of Azusa, and that the
same was published in accordance with law.
