HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 354ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,. ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THEREOF, PROVIDING AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD FOR THE PAYMENT OF DELINQUENT TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS BY APRIL 20 1941, UPON CERTAIN TERMS AND CONDITIONS. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: - SECTION 1. (A) The word "taxes" as used in this section includes all taxes and assessments and annual instalments of assessments charged on the tax roll. (B) In all cases where real estate has been sold, or an entry has been made on the tax roll of the City of Azusa that same has been sold, to the City on or before June 30, 1940, for delinquent taxes, and the City has not disposed of said real estate, the person whose real estate has been so sold or an entry of sale of same has been made as aforesaid, his heirs, executors, administrators or other successors in interest, may, on or before April 20 , 19412 pay said delinquent taxes in an amount hereinafter set forth, upon condition that at the time of paying such delinquent taxes or prior thereto, such tax- payer pays or shall have paid both instalments, plus all penalties for any delinquencies in the payment of either or both of said instal- ments, of the current taxes for the fiscal year 1940 - 1941, which instalments up to the time of said payment,had been a lien on the same real estate. (C)' The payment of the delinquent taxes mentioned in subaction (B) hereof, shall consist of an amount equal to the full amount of all delinquent taxes which and unpaid at the time of said without interest or penalty. .t -_J. are delinquent payment, but (D) The rights and privileges granted under this Ordinance are cumulative and in addition to any and all rights and privileges granted by other Ordinances of the City of Azusa and by other applicable law, and afford such additional rights and privileges as an alternative plan for the payment of Azusa City delinquent taxes for the limited period set forth herein ter- minating on April 20 ., 1941, said rights and privileges being conditioned upon the prior or simultaneous payment of all taxes and penalties charged or chargeable on the current 1940 - 1941 tax. (E) All rights created under this Ordinance for the payment of delin- quent taxes in the manner herein set forth shall expire at the close of business on April 20', 1941, SECTION 2. The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall attest same and certify to the passage, adoption and publication thereof, and shall cause the same to be published once, within 15 days after its passage, in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic,,a weekly newspaper of gen- eral circulation, published and circulated in said City, which newspaper is hereby designated for that purpose, and thereupon and thereafter 30 days after its passage said Ordinance shall take effect and be in force.
