Present at ro,l call: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Meier, City Clerk, Absent: Councilmen: Demmitt, Muehe. and City Attorney. The minutes of the last regular meet- ing of November 4, 1929 were read and approved as read. The Azusa Fireman extended an invita- tion to the City Council to attend the entertainment and banquet given by the San Gabriel Valley Fireman's ` Association, on November 22, 1929. A Communication signed by Comrell Smith and James Rogers, Sr. request- ing the removal of a pepper tree w:as read. It was moved and carried that same be deferred until the next meeting of the Council. A communication from the B. R. C. Chain Store was read. Moved by Councilman Johnson, se- conded by Councilman Mace that same be referred to the City Attorney, carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilman, Johnson, Mace, Ivieier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt, Tiluehe. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that the City Clerk be instructed to draw warrants in payment of the following Tax Re- fund Claims: E. P. Stedman ------------ $ 5.34 E. H. Philleo----------- 17.80 William V. Minteer------- 4.79 Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace Meier. Noes: None: Absent: Councilmen: Demmitt, Irluehe. 7:30P. Moved by Councilman Mace and unanimously carried that a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CTTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF A7USA. APPOINTING EDrNARD G. HURT TO THE OFFICE OF SPECIE\L POLICE OFFICER. AND FIXING HIS SALARY. be read. This Resolution was then read. RESOLUTION NO.1188 Moved by Councilman Johnson, Seconded ADOPTED by Councilman Mace that this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolu- tion Number 1188. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Meier. Moved by Councilman Mace, seconded by Councilman Johnson that the City Clerk be instructed to make an appoint- ment with the City Attorney for Mr. R. E. Clapp. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that the firm of Thomas & Moore be employed as Auditors for the City of Azusa for the ,year 1929-30. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Meier. Noes: None Absent: Councilmen: Demmitt, Muehe. City Attorney to meet R. E. Clapp. Firm of Thomas & Moore appointed Auditors of 1929-30. Moved by Councilman Johnson, Seconded by Councilman Mace that the City Council of the City of Azusa approve the revised plan of Major and Sub -Major highways adopted by the Los Angeles County Re- gional Planning Commission and presented by Wm. J. Fox. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, I.Teier. Noes: None Absent: Councilmen: Demmitt, Muehe. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Mace that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for a new top for the City reservoir. Bids to be opened December 2, 1929 at 7:50 P.M. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Johnson, Mace, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen; Demmitt, Iyiuehe. Moved by Councilman Johnson, Seconded by Councilman Mace that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same.
