ORNIA CREATING A PLANNING COMMISSION.' follows: The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as SECTION 1: There is hereby created and establish- ed a City Planning Commission to be known as the "Planning Commission of the City of Azusa" which said Planning Commission shall consist of seven members, none of whom shall be officers or employees of the City of Azusa; one member of the City Council to be selected by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council, and the City Engineer and the City Attorney shall serve the Planning Commission in an advisory capacity. The members of the Planning Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. SECTION 2: Of the members of the Planning Commission first appointed, two shall be appointed for terms of one year; two for terms of two years; two for terms of three years; and one for a term of four years. The successors of the -members of the Planning Commission first appointed shall be appointed for terms of four years. If a vacancy shall occur, otherwise then by expiration of term, it shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term. The terms of advisory members shall correspond to their respective official tenures. �% The members of the existing Planning Commission shall hold office until their re -appointment, or until their successors have been appointed and qualified. SECTION 3: The Planning Commission shall elect its chairman from among the appointed members for a term of one year, and subject to other provisions of law, may create and fill such other offices as it may determine. The Planning Commission shall hold at least one regular meeting in each month. Until such time as otherwise fixed by resolution of the Planning Commission, the place of meeting of said Commission shall be the council chambers of the Azusa City Hall, and the time of such meetings shall be the Firc.i Tuesday after the first Monday of each month at the, hour of 7±'m o'clock P. M. Special meetings may be called at any time by the Presiden or three members of the Planning Commission by a written notice served upon each member of the Commission not less than three hours. before the time specified for the proposed special meeting. Four members of the Commission shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. SECTION 4: The Planning Commission shall adopt '' rules for the transaction of business and shall keep a record of the. resolutions, transactions, findings and determinations, which record; shall be a public record. The City Council shall provide the funds, equipment and accommodations necessary for the work of the Planning Commission, and the expenditures of the Commission, exclusive of gifts to said Commission, shall be within the amounts appropriated for the respective purposes. SECTION 5: The City Planning Commission shall function under and pursuant to the provisions of the State Conservation and Planning Act, Chapter 807, Statutes of 1947, and amendments thereto, of the State of California, and the powers and duties of said Commission shall be such as may be authorized by the provision of said Act, and by other provisions of State law and Ordinances or resoltitions of the City Council. SECTION 6: Ordinance No. 236 of the City of Azusa adopted and approved the 3rd day of November 1924, and entitled AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISH. ING A CITY PLANNING COMMISSION FOR SAID CITY, PROVIDING FOR THE APPDINTMENT THEREOF, AND PRESCRIBING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES° and all other ordinances inconsistant herewith are hereby repealed. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published once in the Azusa Herald & Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the City of Azusa, within fifteen days after the date of its passage, and this Ordinance shall become effective 30 days from and after the date of its final passage.
