The City Courcil of the City of Azusa met in regular session it the above time andr,lace. Present at ro'1 call: Council- men: Johnson, 19nce, Muehe, Meier, City Attorney, and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Demmitt. The minutes of the last rerzular meeting of November 18th and the adjourned meetings of Nov- ember 25th and 27th, 1929 were read and approved as read. The City Cler',- announced that she had received six (6) bids for the construction of a neer roof over the reservoir of the City of Azusa Mater Denartment. Moved by Councilman Johnson, sec- onded by Council ?,,lace that the bids be now opened, examined and publicly declared: JATITES NOON Bids for roof over reservoir. For Construction of roof over the present reservoir, complete, as per plan No. 7 (New Series) ---------$3,363.00, The above price mentioned calls for the Reservoir to be free from water. Skidmore, Secretary of Azusa Chamber of Commerce, concerning_ hunting within the corporate limits of the City, was read. Moved by Councilman'Johnson, Seconded by Councilman Mace that the Chief of Police be instructed to post the necessary signs along Eleventh Street, Foothill Boulevard and out through the brush land. Cartied by the followinf_- vote of the Council.: Ayes: Councilman Johnson, Mace, Muehe, Meier. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Demmitt. A Commiunication signed by Ernest C. Mitchell at 611 Pasadena Ave- nue was read. Moved by Councilman Muehe, sec- onded by Councilman Mace that the matter of removing pepper trees near IrIr. Mitchell's property be referred to the Board of Public %�lorks to report back at the next meeting. Moved by Councilman Mace, Sec- onded by Councilman Johnson that the City Clerk be instructed to draw warrants on the General Fund in favor of the following, in compliance with their request for a tax refund: Communication signed by S. Robinson_ -------$27.30 Moved by Councilman Muehe, Sec- onded by Councilman Johnson and duly carried that all bids except the three lowest be rejected and the City Clerk instructed' -to re- turn the Certified checks which accompanied these bids. The re- maining three bids to be held open for one week. A request signed by Vosburg Brothers, Inc., was read. Moved by Councilman Muehe; Seconded by Councilman M,_Ice, that the request of Vosburg Brothers, Inc., for leave to place a pipe line across South Vernon Avenue, First Street, Third Street, Fifth Street, and Foothill Boule- vard, at approximately the placers designated in said request, be granted upon the condition that said Vos- burg Brothers, Inc., replace each and all of said streets in approximately= the condition that they were prior to the placing of said pine line, and further that said Vosburg Brothers, Inc., undertake and agree to hold the City harmless and free from any damage, claim for damage, or law suit, or expenses, which may arise out of or from, or by reason of the laying, of said pipe line across said roads, and that said permit shall not be considered as having been granted until. said Vosburg Brothers, Inc., sign a stipulation agreeing to the terms herein enumerated: Further that the surface fininshirg of any w 0 m 1 0 O H 0 w m U 185 - MINUTES OF T1iE REGULAR I'EETING HELD DECEMBER 29 1929. 7:30 P.M. excavations through paved roadwaTs, is to be done by the City of Azusa, at the expense of said Vosburg Brothers, Inc., and that the work under this permit is to be done under the supervision of and satisfaction of the Light and Plater Department of said City of Azusa. (Vosburg Brothers, Inc., agree to the above condition ,and accept all the requirements of the above motion and 4lagree to hold the City of Azusa harmless and free from damage, actions or costs or expenses arising out of or through the permission above granted. a m A Iv1.
