HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 462.. rw ORDINANCE N0. 162 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS HEREINBELOW DESCRIBED LOCATED IN TRACT NO. 8507 OF AZUSA AS PER MAP RECORDED IN BOOK 102 AT PAGES 78 TO 80 INCLUSIVE, OF MAPS RECORDS IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY RECORDER OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY. THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: 1� tin y,_<3 Section 1. It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, to order the vacation and abandonment of the hereinbelow designated streets and alleys in Tract 8507 of Azusa as per map recorded in Book 102 at Pages 78 to 80 inclusive, of Maps Records in the Office of the County Recorder of said Los Angeles County, said streets and alleys to be vacated and abandoned being commonly known and described as follows, which said streets and alleys are shown and designated on a proposed map for the vacation and abandoment thereof, which map is on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Azusa and which map is hereby referred to for particulars, said streets and alleys being as follows, to wit: (a) The alley lying West of Irwindale Avenue and running North and South in about the center of Block 4 in said tract, from Broadway pn the South to Roosevelt Street on the North. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 K LIM I Paramount Street running from Irwindale Avenue Easterly to the West line of the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and Paramount Street, and also excepting that part of McKinley Street running from Irwindale Avenue Easterly to the West line of the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and McKinley Street. Section 2. Said City Council hereby fixes 7:00 o'clock P. M. )n the 20th day of April, 1953, as the time and the regular council ;hambers located in the City Auditorium in the Civic Center of the :ity of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, as the place for searing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment of said streets and alleys. 12 Section 3. That the City Council hereby determines that the public convenience and necessity requires the reservation of 13 easements and rights of way as enumerated in Section 8330 of the 14 Streets and Highway Code of the State of California, and all roceedings are taken subject to such restrictions and exceptions. 15 Section 4. The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall attest same and certify as to the passage, adoption 16 and publication of the same, and'shall cause the same to be published 17 once, within fifteen days after its passage, in the Azusa Herald and omotropic, a weekly newspaper of general circulation published and 18 circulated in the City of Azusa, which said newspaper is hereby designated for that purpose, and thereupon hnd thereafter thirty days 19 after its passage this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force. 20 Q p 7 21 22 Mayor ofj e Pi.tySof Azusa. 23 TTEST: 24, M. Hynes, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was duly introduced, placed upon its first reading and fully read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City on March 2, 1953, held in the regular Council Chambers of said City Council located in the City Auditorium in the Civic Center in said City; that thereafter said Ordinance was duly and regularly passed and adopted.by said Council, signed and approved by the Mayor And attested by the City Clerk of said City at a regular meeting of said City Council so held in said regular council chambers of said Council on March 16. 1953 '1953, and that the same was passed and adopted by the following vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Jackson, Hernandez, Seltzer, Memmesheimer, Jones NOES: None ABSENT: None I do further certify that I caused said Ordinance to be published prior to the expiration of 15 days from the passage thereof in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic on _March 19. 1953 , 1953, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in said City of Azusa, and that same was published in accordance with law.
