HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 475ORDINANCE N0. 475 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, COUNTY OF IAS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING THE OFFICE OF CHIEF ACCOUNTING OFFICER AND DEFINING THE P OF SM-737FICE. s The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION I. There is hereby created the position and office of CHIEF ACCOUNTING OFFICER. SECTION 2. The CHIEF ACCOUNTING OFFICER shall be an officer of the City of Azusa, and shall also be ex -officio, the Budget Officer of the City of Azusa. SECTION 3. POWERS AND DUTIES; The CHIEF ACCOUNTING OFFICER shall have the following powers and duties: (a) Be the Chief Accounting Officer of the City of Azusa, and as such, he shall install and operate a complete municipal accounting system for all offices and departments of the City of Azusa. (b) Be, ex -officio, the Budget Officer of the City of Azusa, and as such, he shall prepare and submit to the City Council annually the budget of the City of Azusa for the ensuing fiscal year, and thereafter supervise the expenditures of all monies so budgeted and appropriated. (c) Perform such other related duties as may be assigned to him by Ordinance or Resolution of the City Council. SECTION 4. All other Ordinances or Resolutions or parts thereof, inconsistant with, or in conflict with, the provisions of this Ord- inance are hereby repealed, SAVE AND EXCEPT, that the same shall remain in full force and effect until the City Council shall determine by resolution duly passed that the office of CHIEF ACCOUNTING OFFICER has been established and is ready to assume the powers and duties herein enumer ted, whereupon the provisions of this Section & shall become immediately effective. SECTION 5. The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall attest the same and certify as to the passage hereof and cause the same to be published once in the Azusa Herald and Pomptropic, a news- paper of general circulation, published and cir- culated in the City of Azusa.
